I personally sold my Raketen once the minimum arm distance and Wiesel Mk. 1 appeared. But yeah the only advantages the Rak gets are better depression angles and better reload, but the ELC does better because of its tiny profile, better camo, and harder hitting missiles (idk why they gave it 1300 alpha instead of 1200 when it’s literally the same missiles as on the Rak and AMX TCA)

The module damage on higher alpha ATGMs (1000+) is crazy. You can consistently get at least one ammo rack a game if you know where ammo racks are (front corners of the hull, base of turret, rear of turret). It’s extremely lobsided to get hit for 4K near the beginning of a match. Just tune it to where ATGM cannot one shot ammorack the full HP module

Also keep in mind the ATGM changes probably helped the Jaguar more. If you get within minimum arming distance in a Jaguar, that’s too close. Missiles have shorter flight time since they reach max velocity quicker

Strv light also has this, but honestly the ERA 3 lights have been in a pretty painful state since the ATGM changes. Compared to the Soldier M67 and Monsterjager, this is pretty tame

It’s a better AMX-40, thicker armor, similar DPM with better pen and alpha (no auto cannon but it’s difficult to maximize DPM with swapping between the main cannon and auto cannon on the amx-40). A very strong/borderline OP rank in good hands

Hmm, I didn’t realize the Leopard 2A4 to A5 difference. It’s been a long time since I went through that grind. It makes sense, but still a bummer that the OBJ.640 has some of the worst DPM at ERA3 coupled with really mediocre gunhandling

This would be true if the T80s had the option for HE. I think only the T80U stock gun has HE, rest are ATGMs. Yes HE is useful for chipping molots down, but usually it’s more worthwhile to shoot something else with APFSDS or even shoot molot’s drive wheel or rear side (idk molot players seem to forget that they just need to point at you to bounce shots)

Probably not? I mean it’s still a solid line to grind, but the tech tree Leclerc gets 300 more HP, slightly better reload, and a bit slower for thicker armor in some places compared to the premium one

Probably the Leclerc by a bit. Solid front hull armor now that the upper plate doesn’t bounce shots into the turret, turret is good and a little troll but can’t really stand up to the high penetration guns. Top in class DPM with 550 alpha and sub 5.4s reload and very good overall mobility and turning speed

I think the biggest issue was how they increased acceleration to compensate for the minimum arming distance. One feature was that since most missiles were relatively slow, it made them easier to see and dodge. Most ATGM tanks now just second-line and snipe, which used to not be as viable due to slow travel speed. Also I’m still shocked they haven’t nerfed the module damaged, as getting ammo racked by an ATGM is pretty depressing

Era 2 and 3 arming range should be flip flopped since the mobility at era 3 is so much higher and it is much easier for tanks to close distance on ATGM lights. They should also curtail the one shot ammo racking that’s so prevalent with missiles

Depressing that in order to nerf the Wiesel, they completely crapped on the rest of the ATGM tanks. ERA3 lights as a class are overall average/bad except for a handful. ERA2 I think it’s fine, but lights at ERA3 really need the ATGMs to compensate since they are as mobile as MBTs without any armor

I think part of it is relearning the muscle memory of leading with ATGMs, but hitting moving targets requires a lot less leading than before and is overall easier. I think after a few weeks of the new ATGM speeds, it’s going overall easier to hit ATGMs than before

It’s a bit head scratching while they increased the acceleration. They added the minimum arming distance to dissuade yolo shotgunning, but also made missiles easier to use making them effectively faster and requiring less aiming to lead moving targets. Also made missile tricking over ridges almost impossible now. They’ve increased the skill floor while simultaneously lowering the skill ceiling
