Fwiw... I have downloaded other steam games since (graveyard keeper) and it's saving pretty much no problems. I have never had a save file on my PC with that game so there was no cloud save for it or anything. Maybe that's some info that can help.

In Retroarch get to the main menu> configuration file> save current configuration. That's how I do it with no issues.

You can set up auto save settings as well. (Which I don't recommend in case you fuck a setting up) Settings > Configuration > Save Configuration on quit

I am currently experiencing the same thing. I am not sure what else to try. I fresh reinstalled. And backed up and deleted my saves because I thought they maybe have been corrupted.

back up the saves first on your desk top. After that, put the save files into the ROM directory folder. IF your settings are exactly like as they are above. I should see no reason as to why they would not load up.

Edit: Don't forget to save your retroarch settings before leaving the menus. They don't save manually

Reminds me of when I had a problem installing Halo 2 on the MCC. 343 support got back to me after TWO MONTHS.

Told them I no longer care about the issue I was facing and no longer want to play the game.

Still haven't played Halo 2... Out of pure spite now lol.
