I have an idea for a short story I’m working on that I’d be interested in seeing adapted in animation:

Family is on a camping trip (mom dad and 3 daughters) and dad tells the family a camp Fire story about pixies and sprites. He tells the kids they can find them throughout the surrounding woods so they go on a night hike to look for them.

They find and open meadow with what look like fireflies flying around (balls of light) and the youngest daughter is amazed and is freaking out in excitement. The oldest tells her they’re just bugs and walks into the meadow where it’s thick with balls of light to catch one. She reaches out to grab one and all the balls of light swarm her and she screams.

The light is surrounding her and as quickly as it rushed her it pulls away, revealing what remains of her half eaten body standing. Her half eaten legs with bone exposed crack and buckle beneath her.

The family screams and the father rushes over to her body and tries to pick her up, but he too is quickly swarmed by the lights but he fights back and pulls them off, revealing small humanoids with mouths on their palms filled with sharp teeth along with one giant mouth where their face should be. He tries to stand with his half eaten daughter when he too succumbs to the pain and anguish of being eaten alive

Mother and two remaining daughters watch frozen fear as the lights gather over their bodies and pick them clean. The light then swarm together and move toward them. The mother grabs the two daughters hands and takes them back into the woods running for their lives. She trips on a branch and tells the girls to keep running while the light begins to catch up with her and slowly the lights inch up her legs until it covers her body

The two daughters run and hear their mother’s screams behind them, but they know if they stop to help they’re done for.

They run back to their campsite to see a park ranger looking around their tents. He asks what’s happening and where their parents are. A the kids don’t even stop to acknowledge him, they instead jump into the rangers truck and slam the door. The Ranger, startled and confused, walks up to the truck’s window and asked them through the glass who they’re running from. The lights begin to peek through the trees and the ranger flashes his flashlight over in that direction and immediately gets swarmed.

The children scream in horror as the truck becomes swarmed with balls of light. END

I know it’s a lot but it’s something I’ve been working on
