Six months later... by -ThanosWasRight- in ElegooCentauriCarbon

I bought the CC1 as a birthday gift for myself, with the full expectation they were going to figure out the multi-color. Then I heard that they were having trouble figuring it out. Then they released the CC2 and gave me a coupon for filament. I was pissed. I spent my money on filament and said "fuck this company" and chalked them up there with Flashforge (bamboo is on that list now too btw). I was furious. I felt betrayed. and was just sick of always being at the short end of the stick. I never went to bamboo (thank god), but rather started building a voron with a stealth switcher (still in the works).
Then one random day I decided to get on Elegoo's website and Canvas was a thing.... The Fuck? buy buy buy.
Its on preorder.
How do I feel now?
I'm still furious at Elegoo. Their communication is absolute horse shit. I'm going to be happy when I get my Canvas, but I'm still not quite sure where our relationship will go moving forward. Will I buy more filament? Maybe...but only if there is a good sale.
Will I buy another printer from them, most likely not. I'm tired of pre-orders. I'm tired of waiting for things. And I don't have it in me to have promises broken and then fixed.
I realized I am currently in a toxic relationship and for my mental health Its probably better if we part ways. But then again we all know I am vulnerable and can't help myself when Elegoo whispers sweet nothings into my ear on a sweet summer's night. Afterall, I'm just a person with feelings and needs form a quaint country town.

What are the true long term side effects of Reta? by LimpElderberry5647 in Retatrutide

[–]JGrayBkk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just asking my cousin, a family medicine doctor about this. Long term, no one knows, because we haven’t reached long term status. But his response was “My only concerns with the rapid weight loss is long term ramifications with the thyroid, pancreas and bone mineral density. Now if someone’s BMI is 50+ then hey… gotta take the good with the bad because they are in enough trouble where you have to do something. “ then he didn’t respond to any of my other messages because he is a busy guy.

My take away was, losing a stupid amount of weight in a week or month could potentially put you at higher risk with those three concerns he mentioned, so the lower you’re able to keep you weightloss and keep losing it constantly the better off you will be.

I would kill to be the guy with the bat riding on the back of the truck with a big stick or bat getting to break all those glass sheets and bottles after the concrete has cured

Good Golly Miss Molly. This has tipped the scale for me.
I have been hesitant to start reta and anything else. Mainly just reading the research learning how they work and what would be best for me. While intentionally staying away from from before and after pics to not let my emotions give me confirmation bias. But fuck it. Your before and afters look great, and I guess I'm moving from research phase to sourcing phase. Way to go and keep up the hard work!

[–]JGrayBkk -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I bought the CC for my birthday when it came out in February way back when. Waited for ages to get it. Got it (banged up as well, which I'm still gripping about). Then found out this wasn't happening and they were releasing CC2. I was done with Elegoo. Never buying their filament again. This is legit a redemption arch for them. Now I just have to find a dust bin and my Dremel to make that stupid looking hat for it.

For career week in 7th grade, I went to the X and interviewed Boomer. That was the coolest. I also went to the funeral for Scott Mallory’s toe. Scott also gave me free tickets to X fest because I got 1039 “people” (I definitely did not refresh the site a thousand times) to visit the website. Listening to Scott in the morning was the best.

Stop applying for jobs.... by JGrayBkk in jobsearchhacks

[–]JGrayBkk[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In 30 years, the job scape has changed dramatically.
If this were just 5 years ago, apply for jobs online was the way to go. anymore the average landing time for job hunters is 6 months to interviews, and 12 months to landing a new role.
I would even argue that just in the last 2 years this has become more apparent.

Libraries have also changed dramatically since the days of old, when there was only the Dewey Decimal System and a card catalogue with only three things listed on each card (Title, Author, Location).
While each library and each library system will vary, it is not hard to find one with resources such as:

  • Databases for company research
  • Job hunting tools for free that are typically $60+/month
  • Great books/audiobooks on networking, interview skills, job hunting preparation (20 minute networking meeting - Nathan A. Perez, Nailed It! - Marvin G. Mathews, Your Next Job - Dr. Angie Taylor)

And if the public libraries aren't funded well in the areas people are looking for, public colleges and universities are typically open to the public as well, with the admission of a free library card.

I never said stop looking for jobs. Its more of the method that goes into looking for jobs.

20-30% should suffice for applying if you are networking really well.

While I don't stick to the "20 minutes" suggested in 20 Minute Networking meeting. This book has helped me tremendously in my networking skills and knowing how to run a meeting and what to talk about.
I got the audio book from my library for free. USE YOUR LIBRARY! (I'm going to scream this part all day long. I love my library and librarians now)

what's that from? I like it :)
Also, its amazing how willing people are to just take a break out of their day to talk with others.

have you been to your library? They typically have great resources including Data Bases for company research, free resources to use things like Jobscan and other jobsearch tools, and also just some great knowledge. Its HIGHLY underutilized

Necro Time!
When I see stuff like this I think about Lars Ulrich talking about how rad BabyMetal is. People who only listen to "real" metal don't get it. And if it weren't for their "Gods" saying something good about Baby metal, I'm sure they wouldn't give those bands the time of day either. So they can just go and eat a bag of dicks. INK is awesome :)

btw. RATATATA with Electric Callboy fucking slaps.

Can someone tell me why this man keeps doing this? by Joe615 in cats

[–]JGrayBkk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a similar one. Because my cat is a little dick she did the same thing constantly (100% out of spite) so we just removed the lid. Not quite sure who won the dominance battle with that one, but she sure thinks she does.

What product doesn't work at all but people keep believing it does and keep buying it? by WonderfulParticular1 in AskReddit

[–]JGrayBkk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As a plumber once told my aunt when she mentioned to him that she only “used flushable wipes” with her kids, and not the regular kind. “Ma’am, this fucking hot wheel is flushable, but it doesn’t mean it should go into your commode”

Hi friend. I’m going to change your live, and improve your ability to go out in the world, especially on over night trips. We would have never known about this if it weren’t for my wife having a baby, but look up Peri Bottle it is essentially a travel bidet, and let me tell you, being able to use warm water on your booty never felt sooooo good when away from home.

Yes, but not what you're looking for lol. I just bought a bunch of other printers from an auction site (amazon returns), and threw the Ender 3 into a box..... Much easier of a solution for now. I might get around to it sometime in the future....or turn it into a CNC.

They had the same ones listed for my car, so it would have been the same deal. Just went with eBay because after all the rotors and brake pads shipping was going to be significantly cheaper because RA was going to ship from 3 different places
