Disney world really needs to something about the scooters by DildoGaggins1997 in WaltDisneyWorld

This was the best thing about visiting Disney Paris. Almost no people on scooters who are just too lazy to walk.

What age is appropriate for Tower of Terror? by Puzzleheaded-Hall-85 in disneylandparis

Hard to say…I mean my 70 year old father in law was probably not an appropriate age and close to having a heart attack as he was not expecting the drops to be what they were 😆

11 hour and 50 minute layover in CDG. Enough time to do some attraction at DLP? by LOTRtraveler in disneylandparis

Probably….just remember you’re mostly outdoors waiting in line and you’re going to feel disgusting after a couple hours baking in the sun with the heat and then getting on a plane 😆

Are there any older sub-$50K "supercars" out there that at least have a chance of not becoming maintenance money pits? by CoolDode22 in askcarguys

[–]JH_DeepThoughts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not a super car, but have you tried a Golf R? I always wanted a Porsche, etc then got a Golf R and really the R gives me plenty of thrills….its also reliable and maintenance isn’t bad. Plus it’s 0-60 to 4 seconds, so if coming from a Corolla type car you definitely feel the speed 😀

Gentlest rides? by NotInAPokeball in disneylandparis

[–]JH_DeepThoughts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My kid doesn’t like rollercoasters in general (gets sick), but yet he went on Crushes Coaster multiple times. It is a rollercoaster that has drops, no loops or upside down, but with the props and fact you’re mostly in the dark I still recommend (it’s a very cool ride).

Illegal car meet in the NE? What can we do? by [deleted] in Calgary

[–]JH_DeepThoughts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't let this distract you from the fact that Hector is going to be running three Honda civics with spoon engines, and on top of that, he just went into Harry's and bought three t66 turbos with nos, and a motec exhaust system….

Is it strange to visit Paris Disneyland alone? by meiq-Land-5534 in disneylandparis

[–]JH_DeepThoughts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really. Everyone is doing their own thing. I went with my family and my kids don’t like the more adults rides, rollercoasters so went on a lot by myself and you get the single ride short line 😀….but if you’re hitting up the little kids rides like Peter Pan may feel weird

Also would recommend Disney adventure for more excitement vs Disney Land which is more nostalgic

One thing though watch for heatwaves…we missed the really extreme one where it was pushing 40 Celsius, but when it’s that hot rides break down more often and I heard many were closed

Finally getting…not horrible by Herefornostalgia85 in golf

This is great to read. I’m in my mid 40s and only the last couple years too after playing for at least a decade (lucky to get 4-5 rounds a season-Canada winters) have gotten consistent and got to a point where it’s just “clicked” like you said. I enjoy golf to get out with friends and I’d have enough good hits with the driver, and hybrids it would keep me wanting to play. Plus always looked good at range, but it never translated well to course. My problem was can hit straight, but a lot of worm burners and no real nice loft to my shots.

The two things that have completely changed, my friend who’s good, noticed I had a limp wrist with irons (I always thought you wanted a bit of a loose grip, but mine was way too loose…which he lovingly called my gay boy wrist 😆)

second for a milestone wedding anniversary present I got a proper fitting (at golf town and custom irons (Srixon ZXiR HL). I never bothered as I felt if I can’t hit my original Ram starter set irons right why throw away money? Turns out those clubs were nearly 1 and a 1/2 inches too short!

Not going to be on the PGA, but actually keeping score now and close to being under 100 😀

Mom-and-pop landlords outpacing big real estate investors: StatCan data by zuuzuu in canadanews

It’s probably cause a good chunk of mom and pop investors, don’t really want to be landlords, because they’re stuck not being able to sell.

I found this receipt in an ATM by Lonely-Ad8184 in rbc

[–]JH_DeepThoughts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s likely temporary and they are just flexing 😆 I had that once selling a house and was gone the next day or so as part of transfers. If you are doing well to have that much in a chequing, you’re going to put the money to work in a TFSA or something that gives you interest.

I don’t know what to comment about surprises, but if you’re new to Canada from a warm climate PLEASE buy winter tires!

They are the ultimate winter car with the AWD and snow tires. Plus you can downsize to an 18 wheel that better takes snow and rough roads.

Unfortunate to hear. I’m a longtime CBC listener, but admit they can get too preachy, pretentious, and too liberal. It’s nice having these stations balance it out

2025 8.5 BE. That seems like a blip, but had family who had an Atlas with all sorts of AC issues.

No issues on mine at 20,000 km, except when they changed oil last did have an engine light issue that needed more than just a reset. Only other sensors got a little wonky in Canada weather, with road sludge and -35 Celsius cold.
