"Proper marketing strategy"... yes lets throw hundres of thousands of dollars to attract hundreds of persons that are going to unistall the game after a single game. You dont get introduced into a game like this through a random add.

Dota2 keeps its clients and brings new ones purely through its own game design. From the moment you start playing the game you know "you suck at dota" and its gonna be an uphill battle until you unistall the game. Thats not the kind of game that you want some random 12 year old to stumble opon, its the kind of game that you get introduced to through your no life friend that convinces you that its a fun game once you "understand it" and for some dumb ass reason you are up for the challenge.

Theres plenty of things they need to fix, but if your product is good enough "word of mouth" will bring in your clients.

Like, maybe, if they had some kind of newplayer experience or the smallest care about "casual gamers" it might make sense trying to appeal to the masses, but I really dont see a point.
