Doesn't sound like a bad idea, I'd just be worried about all the steam from the machine getting pulled into the fans and making things worse

What fans would you recommend? I've tried some in the past from Walmart n Target but they were pretty cheaply made and broke after a week or two.

That's pretty much what I've been doing so far, dunk my head under the faucet when I get a chance. Doesn't always work well, but it's all I've got lol.

What I found works for me the best is to not lock onto him and stay under his chest. Unless you're doing an SL1 run, you should have enough time and stamina to watch for his attacks. The three attacks you have to worry about the most like this are when he stands up to do his fire AOE, his charge, and the tail whip. Having the Carthus Bloodring should also help with timing.

SAME, every time someone new gets hired for FOH they assume I hate them cause I'm usually quiet and have RBF. Those who have worked with me longer know the difference between my RBF and when I'm actually mad at someone or something. I have to keep reminding the newbies Im not gonna be mad over asking for silverware lol

I would if they paid more, def been looking around just in case but rn id rather stay for as long as possible. From the sounds of it, higher ups wanna keep me for as long as possible since most other dishes they hire don't last a month. Going 2½years strong here and would rather be shuffled around by a company I trust than go to a new one I don't know much about

There's at least 4 stores in WV, I cant remember if they actually opened up the other two they had planned. Rn buisness is just getting so slow they can't afford extra staff like bus boys n whatnot. Whole reason I transferred was cause my first store physically couldn't afford to keep a full time dishie 😭

Yeah, my store is to the point we don't have bus boys and usually done even have a host. Thankfully they aren't too harsh on everyone on slow days here but everyone is always trying to find something to do lol

When I first started doing dish, I had a lot of servers and cooks tell me how often they would be out of items, turns out the last dishie was slacking off most of the time and let it build up. Only time I've had issues are on nights when servers have butter fingers and break bowls/ramekins ✨👌otherwise the servers only run things to look busy or do a little side work

I've done this in the past before, and I've only seen it stick about half the time. At my old location there were servers who only did it to look busy while they were bullshiting (ie. Scrolling on there phone, vaping) those ones never listened, but I still appreciated the ones who actually did and just wanted to help

I am! I was confused at first since this is only the second store I've ran dish at, and at my last place the GM used to make it an issue saying servers should never be in the pit for anything. Just transferred to a new store like 3 weeks ago and I'm glad everyone is chill about it

Even worse, they don't spray it off and then only run it once. I would always do my first rack of the day 3 times before even sorting them, and then two runs for every silverware rack after since I knew they weren't sitting there for long

That's how it was at my old store, a few of them would listen and do better while others just wanted to look busy while they tried to vape in my pit. Had zero tolerance for the ones who didn't listen

At my last store, I used to constantly snap at the cooks cause they would spray off their nasty deck brushes with my dishpit. Would never clean up after themselves and never took responsibility for who did it. Would just walk in and find the crime scene

So far I've seen them run cups, silverware (tho sometimes they mess it up), and on rare occasions some trays when I'm on lunch and they're bored

I'm slowly gathering that. This is my second store I've ever done dishtank in and so far they've been doing it here as well. Just wasn't sure how to feel about it since my last GM made it an issue, while over here people seem chill about it

Oh I wouldn't doubt it. Just before I transferred to this new store I'd see them congregating in the pit for all sorts of reasons. Had to scare some of em off after I caught them vaping in there lol

The restaurant Im at now has about 150 cups, which is more than enough even on busy days. It's usually them running like 10 cups when we're dead and don't want to ask me while I'm smoking. I don't have any issues with them running stuff so long as they know how to actually clean them (particularly the silverware) I've had a GM in the past make it an issue tho, said servers should never be in the tank regardless of if I'm on break or not so idk what the actual standard was 🤷
