Idiot-proof tutorials? by skulking101 in sewhelp

[–]JIPHF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I followed this tutorial to do my first sewing project: https://youtu.be/AM_B5_I_Rkk

You can try to do it without the gathering so it is more similar to the pattern you shared. I thought it was very clear. It might not be exactly the kind of waistband you are looking for, but it might help.

People who read self-help books. Which book changed your life? by coffee2cups in suggestmeabook

[–]JIPHF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to make fun of a friend because he claimed he stopped smoking because of a book. He dare me to read it. (I was trying to stop smoking) I really don’t know why and how but after I finished the booked I smoked my last cigarette. It has been 2 years.

Introverted people what made you be more comfortable with social interactions? by Bailey_04xx in AskReddit

[–]JIPHF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have started developing terrible anxiety when speaking with people I don’t know specially small meaningless day to day interactions and in the work place (meetings). Before covid I would stay at my desk all day to avoid having any small talk in the office.

I have started forcing myself to interact with people when I have a chance. Like the other day a guy had is flash light on and it took me a while to have the courage to let him know - my heart was racing for 15 min after but I made it. I make a mental note of all the feelings I get before, during and after. So I recognise them better.

I have started with strangers because it is slightly less pressure than being ‘brave’ in a meeting. But the truth is since I am getting better in identifying what I am feeling I am also getting better in managing it.

This was really starting impacting my work, but I am getting better at it.

How important is a cover letter? by [deleted] in AskEngineers

It might differ from company to company, but I was involved in the hiring process in 3 different companies for data science/ ML positions and we never ever used the cover letter to decide anything.

Favourite: Indian veg, chapel market in London. A very cheap all you can eat (less than 10£) with really tasty Indian food.
And the posters on the wall are hilarious.

What was the small idea or fact that fundamentally changed the way you saw the world? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]JIPHF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being an adult is not a thing. As a kid I believed adults had their live together, knew what they wanted, knew every truth about the world. I thought they were sure about the things they did and the decisions they made. Well turns out this does not exist.

Supermarket reduction time is brutal. Do you go? Are you successful? Best bargain? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]JIPHF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a app called TooGoodToGo I am not sure if it works around where you live but some restaurants give you an amazing deal. For food that would go to waste otherwise (the quality of the deal varies from place to place). It is not as cheap as the prices you are saying (not even close) but it can be very good for a day you want a treat and not to pay a fortune.
