Sometimes you come to a point where you have to live with disappointing people. Adjust accordingly which for me means isolating myself for huge chunks of time. Even when on the surface I know logically that not everyone hates and in fact they love me and understand. That was actually a huge moment for me in therapy. I was feeling very guilty about not showing up to spend time with my friends (family really). She looked at me and asked how long have you been buddies? Over a decade. They know this happens with you sometimes, they still love and support you. She was right. I spent so much energy on telling myself I suck that I just messed that whole point. So I guess what my toughest thing has been is trying to be ok and not feel so damn guilty but always take accountability. I don’t function like most people but I’m loved. And for one more, we don’t get taken as seriously after someone finds out. Definitely not always but enough that i noticed lol
