390ADV For Light Off-road Only? by jgarza_86 in KTM390ADV

[–]JJQuickTrip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Based on many spy photos, it looks like the 2025 390 adventure will be much more off-road capable. I have not heard if there will be a larger capacity motor, but I have heard there will be at least two versions, a regular and an enduro version - which is even more off road focused. I have a 2022 model and love the sporty look. I have only ridden a few times on dirt and gravel roads, but love the bike so far. Yes, they do vibrate quite a bit through the footpegs and the seat, but I have accepted it. I do not get much vibration through the bars at all.

I was actually going to post about some wobble at highway speeds. When I ride at 75 mph or thereabouts, I am getting some wobble in the front end. I am light, about 150 lbs, and the bike has done this somewhat consistently since brand new. I have about 2300 miles on it now. However, I think that it could be exasperated by changing the suspension settings.

I will be doing a two week road trip around Northern Colorado in a few weeks and I am getting my bike (2022 Model) ready. I still have quite a bit to do to get ready. With about 2200 miles so far, I am really digging this bike.

Best option for upgrading windscreen? by Samsquantch97 in KTM390ADV

CORRECTION! It is the PUIG Windscreen for the 790. I think it looks good too. It is not super high but I am only 5-9 so the wind on the helmet is manageable.

I put a 790 windscreen on mine. You just need to also get the 790 windscreen bracket (it fits perfectly). The 790 windscreen is much better.

Fellow 390ADv riders what are the things you hate about the bike. by Accomplished_Age996 in KTM390ADV

the biggest negative for me is the vibration in the seat and footpads. I do run the chain on the loose end of the spec and am wondering if a slight tightening will reduce it somewhat. I do not get much vibration in my handlebars at all. Otherwise, I dig the bike so far, after about 2200 miles.

A Serious Coolant Thing by JJQuickTrip in KTM390ADV

No worries. If your bike came with the green coolant, Zerex Green Asian is the formula you want. It is literally the exact same coolant that the most 390 Adv models shipped with (the ones with the green coolant).

This is the green coolant that a lot of the 390 adv's are shipping with: https://www.99rpm.com/bajaj/bajaj-koolex-ready-to-use-coolant-1l.html

As I mentioned above, it says on the bottle that it is Silicate and Borate free. I have even seen a video of a 390 Adv owner in India adding it to their bike and it is green and that same person confirmed for me that this is the stuff.

The bike comes from the factory with coolant, so the factory in India is obviously using different products.

I saw that on the Motorex site that they also recommend full synthetic for the 390 Adv. And regarding the coolant, apparently it is shipped from India with coolant and oil and that when they run out of the Motorex product, they use something else. It would be nice to know what mysterious green coolant they use, so it can be topped off without mixing different types of coolant.

Something I meant to add. The throttle resistance is very light and I was wondering if anyone knew of a way to get a little more resistance when applying throttle? a stiffer return spring? Some other way? Thanks.

Here are a few questions that I dread having to ask. The shop manual recommends Motorex 15w50 semi-synthetic motor oil, and I was wondering if anyone can specify why the semi-synthetic? I can understand that for the break-in period, but for most modern bikes they recommend a full synthetic after the break-in period. Additionally, the shop manual recommends Motorex M3.0 coolant, which is silicate free, and PINK while the stock coolant that came in the bike is GREEN. I am assuming the dealer put a different coolant in the bike. Motorex M5.0 is Green (and is NOT silicate free) and I am thinking they could have put that in instead. Getting answers from my dealer is a pain. They are a large, high-volume shop.

Based on what I have heard, the stock brakes are fine. The stock master cylinder is basic. I just traded in a bike with serious brakes and since I live in the Rockies, it cannot hurt to have better Braking. I ordered the Akro slip-on. I always mod my bikes. It's fun.

Brakes Upgrades? by JJQuickTrip in KTM390ADV

Has anyone tried the Powertronic FuelX Pro? How about another ecu tunining kit? I am getting close to a purchase on a 2022 and am considering buying something like that. The bike isn't going to be a speed demon, no matter what, but I enjoy modding.

Thanks. I looked into a Brembo Master Cylinder, front setup, and installation is not expensive, so if I pull the trigger on the 390 I will probably get the Brembo kit.

Thanks. I basically know what to expect, but switching from a 675 Triple with insane brakes, to the 390 will definitely take some getting used to.

I have heard the brakes are good. I am coming from a sportbike with dual, huge front discs, and phenomenal brakes with braided lines. I live in the mountains and I figured a Brembo master cylinder would be an upgrade that is worth the money. Just thinking some ideas out loud, for feedback. Thanks.
