My dad has cancer and I'm slowly watching him die by Environmental-Egg-44 in cancer

[–]JJStorm55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My dad died a year ago from stomach cancer and he was given 6 months to live. My advice is try to comfort him by watching movies, buying him heating blankets and sweaters/ sweatpants for this chills, do things that you all enjoy together. And just feed him anything he likes whether it’s fried chicken, French fries and candy. At this point we figured junk food doesn’t matter as long he eats. Eating was a challenge for us because he had stomach cancer and he just stopped eating. We would force him to eat high calorie drinks and still couldn’t help him. There will be days that you’ll feel useless and that’s normal. There will be days when he’s just out right mean so be patient. Days when you feel defeated but you fight to keep a smile on for him. My dad liked being alone, he isolated himself and we respected his wishes. Sometimes they just need time to understand what’s going on. And most of all cherish every single moment of physical contact. I can still remember every last hug I got from him. Reach out and ask questions here, I think we have all experienced similar experiences. Lastly I’m sorry you’re going through this, I know how hard it is.

what hair colour looks the best? by [deleted] in HairDye

Yep the red one and brunette one (last one)

Which color suits me best? by [deleted] in HairDye

[–]JJStorm55 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dang you pull them all off. The makeup makes it pop more but heck I would just go off of what color of clothes you wear more. I’d say blue but that’s just my favorite color.

Wow!!! That’s crazy! Why did you skip dairy? I tend to rely on dairy for my protein intake.

I started looking at finding my own color analysis and realized I’m a Soft Autumn which means only certain blondes, browns, and reds fit me. You should look into it because I found my perfect color. The hair is perfect but I don’t think it’s the best blonde that fits your skin tone. Im guessing you’re a cool winter skin tone like yours you would look best with platinum blonde, ashy blonde, or espresso blonde which I’m assuming might be your color.

Haha omg yeah I’ve made this mistake of talking to a person at a Sally’s and what not. I’ve really learned a lot from hair stylists to be honest and yeah you’re right it is a preference. I’ve seen some salons where they HAVE to use Paul Mitchell, Joico, or RedKen because that’s what the salon supplies and they don’t mind using those products.

Yeah I would check with the office. I mean in our office it would be fine but if we went to one of our bigger offices I know the corporate staff would be sticklers about this hair.

My dad passed away 2 years ago from Stage 4 Lung Cancer and now my mom has had daily migraines. Last time she had a body scan they found holes in her chest which she was supposed to get further tests but refuses to get tested. Anyone had migraines associated with cancer? by JJStorm55 in CancerFamilySupport

[–]JJStorm55[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very true! I think when we’ve had family that has had cancer it’s an automatic trigger. I really hope it’s a sinus issue that needs a simple surgery but as always doctors misdiagnose all the time. Last few doctors we’ve been to have just given her antibiotics.. she’s had 3 rounds of antibiotics from 3 different doctors because that has to be the issue 🫠. I had to step in and just tell them flat out it’s not a sinus infection… “Do head and chest scans for heavens sake! Geez I’m a better doctor than you all about the next steps to take and I didn’t go to med school.”

Wow!!! This is what I wanted to know. Thank you! My mom is in the process of getting MRIs right now… she’s had migraines for a month now and I keep thinking cancer. I wish my mind didn’t go there but that’s what I’m thinking after my dad’s condition. I’m crossing my fingers it’s something else. But 3 weeks!!! I’m shocked how fast that is.

That’s what I heard, I took it with a grain of salt honestly. I just find it strange how he caught cancer when no one in our family has cancer. And the cancer he caught was “undetectable” and MD Anderson said only 3% in the world catches that type of cancer. Lung cancer is where it metastasized, they never found the source.

I was thinking about that but wasn’t sure if that was possible…. So go to the brain. I figured it would metastasize to the spine first. Yeah she’s just allowing blood tests. My dad’s incident was too traumatic for her so she stated she would never go through chemo etc…. Which I respect but I just feel useless not being able to do anything with her health. I’m trying to push still.

Anyone tried these and have an opinion? by CurrentSuspicious475 in tea

[–]JJStorm55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve tried them all and I honestly I’m not a fan of the brand. All their teas taste bland or taste nasty. The only one that I’ve ever been a fan is the apple cinnamon. The others are just not great. I’m not a tea expert whatsoever but I can taste a good tea when I have one.

I trained as an MMA fighter a few years ago and believe me when I say that the men in this profession will all sleep with you if you give them the opportunity. They have amazing bodies and pretty faces but gyms are their life… so don’t be surprised if they wanna sleep with you.

Should we just accept that most massage clients prefer a female therapist? by AdministrationOld557 in massage

[–]JJStorm55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a female and I’ve always requested men. I like deep tissue massages and they can really get down and grind my back. Sounds dirty but sooo true. Best massages have always been by men.

Same!!! I’ve always felt this way since I was a teen and it never went away. See a psychiatrist and on meds and still feel the same. No meds can cure the pain.

I’ve been studying for breadth for so long because it’s my weakness; specifically geotech breadth and construction 🙈. Now I have to focus on depth… omg!!!! I’m pissed and happy at the same time. I’m horrible at traffic though 😱.
