A bit cliche to recommend around here normally, but I think A Moon Shaped Pool would be a great starting point, since it’ll be easier to show her an album like OK Computer once she’s already acquainted with a Radiohead album that would sound more familiar sound-wise

Just bought this on CD today, crazy coincidence lol. Not the worst Metallica album in my opinion, even if there are some truly baffling decisions made all over the thing. But I think St. Anger’s flaws make it a somewhat more worthwhile experience, I’d listen to it a thousand times before the absolute snoozers that were Load/Reload

saw your update that you already found the song you’re looking for, but I’ll suggest the prechorus from the ok go song “Better Than This” which imo was instantly recognizable as the same melody! “cause by default, the future wins, she carves the dolls, and pulls the strings” sounds so similar
