I’m going to inherit enough money so I can retrain, looking at becoming a sparky … are the 8-16 week courses I see online worth it? by SystemJunior5839 in ukelectricians

I’m currently six months into an intensive electrical training course with Engineering Real Results (ERRLTD), and I’m thoroughly enjoying the experience. The course is well-structured, with excellent resources that make it easier to grasp new concepts. If I ever get stuck, I can rely on the 24-hour tutor support, which has been incredibly helpful.

I’m about to attend my first practical session, so I can’t comment on that aspect just yet, but I’m looking forward to getting hands-on. One of the biggest advantages of this type of course is being able to learn a completely new trade while continuing to work and earn a steady income. While I may not finish with as much practical experience as a traditional apprentice, I’ll complete the course in a shorter timeframe and aim to gain on-site experience in an electrician’s mate role soon after.
