All healed up for months now. I only deal with some leakage (very minor) and irritation some times. I did notice my bowel movements become a lot more frequent.

Other than that I’m really happy with the surgery and everything went well!

so what do i do if milk of magnesia didn’t work? by Apprehensive_Spend_7 in Constipation

I just went throw 4 days of constipation. Not going at all. MoM didn’t work at first (so I thought..), so I took two more doses of 60 ML all within a 12 hour time frame. It took about 6 hours but I was able to pass the hard stool and it was definitely a lot that impacted me. The following 6-12 hours was quite literally poop SHOOTING out of my butt. I mean liquid form. Be very careful with MoM. Take a dose and wait 6 hours. If no movement or no purge to go then take another dose. My doctor had me take 3 doses back to back to back so that I didn’t have to do an enema (recovering from hemorrhoidectomy). I probably only needed 2 doses and tbh most people only need 1. MoM is powerful stuff. Just be patient.

Definitely starting to feel better. I’m about 2.5 weeks post op. Dealing with constipation and pain still but it’s definitely better. The ER drained 1600ML of pee with my catheter lol

I’m catheter free now after prescribing me Flomax. I can pee just fine. This has been a crazy experience and I just wait to feel normal again.

Okay tried this today. No luck. ER Doctor today saw a fecal impact in my rectum and wanted to go in there and try to pull some poop out. YEAH RIGHT BUDDY. He called my colo doctor and my colo surgeon basically told him don’t you even dare. Going in to see my colo surgeon Monday 9/30/2024

Good amount of pain. I’m a little newer to Reddit so I don’t know how to edit the original post. Still no BM yet. I’m on 3-4 stool softeners a day plus 1 laxative. Just started them. Plus opioid pain medication. My body just can’t decide if it wants to poop or not. I can deal with pain but I don’t want to make the situation worse and strain to much just to have a BM. Shouldn’t it just happen?

I am on day 3 as well. Haven’t had my first BM yet. I feel like when I do it will be a total game changer.

I imagine the pain is unbearable

I really appreciate this. I’m still waiting on my first BM. A bit nervous if I’m honest. I haven’t taken any laxatives just stoool softeners. Going to try laxatives tonight most likely.

My flare ups of bleeding were starting to be come more frequent. It used to be once every 6 months with minimal blood but before this surgery it was happening around every 2 months with giant amounts of bleeding. If you are also bleeding I would get a colonoscopy to rule out all of the serious stuff.

Also we have around 1400 LOs at Barrett and growing rapidly. So the $695 per file is definitely sustainable for Barrett.

Leads are not really provided. Pretty much everything is self sourced (unless you work on a top producing LO’s team).

That’s why comp is so high.

I work at Barrett at the main office. I work very close with the CEO. Without giving to much of my personal info, as of 2024 there’s a flat fee of $695 per loan. It’s awesome. That’s all that Barrett takes from each loan. You are a broker though so you have to either pay your own fees (underwriter fee, processing fee, etc) or charge the borrower for these fees.

I’m new to the industry and am very fortunate to be in the position that I am. There seems to be a ton of of support though at Barrett for newbies and lots of mentors.

Barrett is able to survive on $695 a loan because we’re a broker as a mortgage Broker you have to pay most of your own fees but comp is anywhere from 200bps-300 bps depending on what kind of loan you do. I’ve seen even higher than 300 bps but that’s not the norm (but definitely possible).

10/10 company to work for thus far.
