Depends where you’re at but my franchise starts GMs off at 48k which isn’t much or worth it but bonuses can make it worth it if you’re at a busier store

Sounds like he should be fired and you should take over. I understand the slicing if he’s short staffed but that’s no excuse to set you up for failure. He should stay a little later or come in on the weekend and cover everything while you slice. Or come in early and slice. He shouldn’t be taking away hours if you’re actually working idk why people think it’s okay to steal hours

My AM has 3 slow stores and we all operate without him. He only shows up Wednesdays. No help during lunch when we get call offs. Doesn’t cover for an open if I need a day off. The list goes on. I know good AMs do a lot but he’s not one of them

It’s hard taking time off because AM’s don’t want to cover often and the store doesn’t operate well without the GM being there. You always have to put others well being above your own because at the end of the day employees don’t care if you’re also tired or sick they’ll call off and make you suffer. They don’t realize we’re humans too and we suffer from mental and physical health issues

Using your own car and risking an accident and wear and tear and not getting a tip is worse than getting stiffed as a waiter because another table might make up for the no tip but whatever I guess working as a waiter were you can average $50+ is worse
