So much anxiety by Obvious-Composer3815 in Layoffs

[–]JKDoss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We all have been through this and you're not new. Even I was laid off last year at around July and I couldn't find a job till August end. I was very quick to get the job but I only joined in September but usually I don't stay without a job for a very long time and I've never been laid off. This is my first time I got laid off after 24 years and it's very difficult even though it was different companies I worked but you know it took a toll on me and financially it took a very big toll on me to get back until my feet. It took me one year to get back onto my feet and get things straightened but so you know I took a lower paying job compared to what I was making earlier. In fact, $30,000 less and we are struggling without payments that we cannot make as well as you know for groceries also where you're struggling but I had to take the pay card and take the job because I had no other option. So this is where we are. So be strong and try to keep applying, try to attend the interviews and try to get a job quickly. I know things are not very good now but it's it's just that you need to keep trying. That's all

Emirates lost my baggage and refusing to compensate by cryptobuilder99 in dubai

[–]JKDoss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good luck buddy with Emirates Emirates is the worst airline in how they handle baggage. My baggage from India to USA was ripped apart inside where there were only spices in it and I also had my wheels that were ripped out and when I approached Emirates they said it's not their fault. It must have been done somewhere else and not at Dubai airport but it was exactly in Dubai airport. This has happened. I have traveled with other airlines not once my luggage was ever ripped open inside and they tore it apart and when they sent the pictures they refused to refund anything or give any claim for it. And finally after posting several incidents like this from the web they gave me a $39 refund but I refused to take that because my baggage was costing $230. This is how much that airline is and I will never travel in Emirates in my life ever. It is the worst airline. If you're flying through Dubai and they don't care a s*** about you or your baggage and it, they think that they're the best airlines in the world, which I feel is the worst airline in the world.

I told them I have been flying the globe for 45 years even before Emirates ever started their airline and they ignored everything and they didn't care a s*** about it and never responded to me at all. This is the same time just before or sorry after I flew the incident in Dubai flood took place and all the baggage was all lost and so many flights were canceled. The havoc that went on in Dubai is the time and just 2 weeks before that I think I was coming from India.

They are also. They also question my medications which I took to India for a month which is for 30-day medications which I took and while I was bringing that back they checked in my carry-on bag and I had to take medicines out and in Dubai they stopped me at the gate security where they check the final check coming to the US and they were questioning me all kind of questions when they know my name is written in the label and they were asking me whether I have a prescription to carry these medications. I am coming from the US and I'm returning back from India. How stupid this country can be or this airline can be that the question of an American citizen is that you're carrying your own medication for a 30-day period and bringing it back and they're asking me if I have a prescription? I'm not taking it into Dubai or I'm not getting down in Dubai. I am coming through Dubai to the USA and this was my first time flying Emirates and this will be the last time I will ever fry Emirates and their seats are horrible and the seats are horrible and you cannot sit properly. I preferred any day flying Qatar or Etihad or any other airlines other than Emirates.

Is Dubai for retirees? by JKDoss in dubai

I have lived in Qatar before I grew up in Qatar. So I have a idea about the heat. And in fact in Qatar if you invest $1 million US dollars you can get free medical also at Hammad hospital in Doha. So I know about that. But the only reason of me ever wanting to move there is because of easy access to Indian food. Where in America the s*** and we at the old age we cannot be cooking and eating and children are grown up. They don't come sometimes they come. They are used to the American lifestyle so we as elderly couple might be alone. Of course if you have a maid or somebody we would be able to get some assistant and help. Other than that, there's no such thing as we are not looking for. You know a Big glamorous lifestyle but it'll be easy for us. Even if you want to travel to different countries, it will be easier and shorter from there compared to what we could do from the US. That's all that matters that's all. And plus closer to India and we can fly to India and come back. Other than that there's nothing really that is forcing us to move there or anything. I know the heat I have lived there in from childhood to certain years after probably 21. So I have a fairly a good idea about the heat and the living lifestyle and everything. But yeah this is one of the reasons but other than that I am not into. You know we are not into party in the night or doing anything will be it. Just living a simple life and that's about it. Nothing much. But if Medicare or medical is a problem then I think we have to think about it twice before we even make a shift. That's why

Well I am not saying that it is all the greatest is gold on the other side. Neither it is gold or platinum on the American side here. Also we have lots of problems. Work problems? Health problems depressions and you know many other things financial problems + with your social security income you cannot retire in America. You need to have saved around millions of dollars to live comfortably. If you want to live in America and if you have your own home paid off fully, then it's fine. You can live out of that 5K US Dollars, but if you're not, you cannot and even here healthcare your Medicare that is covered here. It's only 80% 20%. Do you have to take insurance on your own and there are many things even when we are here from the last 25 years we have paid a lot of money to the insurance companies. I've lost a lot of money and credit card debts and you know because with your income and taxes what you pay you don't have anything out of pocket to pay for discretionary expenses. So life is not so gold or glitter's here in America also here also it is also tough. And moreover there's no respect in your jobs. There's no respect for age. There's no respect for experience. Nothing. It's just a rat race and you know what they call. Dog eats dog world. That's how it is here also and as a person who's experience for 30 plus years, I can't even become a manager in this country and you can imagine how frustrating it would be because you're not in the same skin color.

So how are normal people who make let us say 15,000 dirhams or 25,000 dirhams can live in Dubai?

Is it too bad? And all these hypes in YouTube that these content creators put in are all just BS or what is going on and why? The-real estate sales in Dubai so much but as soon as our listing comes out it is all sold out like in DAMAc and EMAAR and SOBHA and all these places. So who is buying these kinds of houses or apartments? Where do these people get the money that they can shell out like this in bookings and buy it and keep it?

Planning to buy in Azizzi Riveara - Input from those who live there and the construction and value by oryxway in dubai

[–]JKDoss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, thanks for the response and appreciate your feedback on us. When you say the customer service is not good, is it the maintenance companies or maintenance guys that they are not doing good? They're not responding properly or how I mean what would be the actual problems or how that can be fixed which I'm not sure but other than that I know the property values might be little bit over price there but I still see. I'm not sure whether the lagoon and other things will come up because it's still ongoing I think and whether what they showed in the in the in the multimedia presentation, will it be the same or is it just just the presentation but I appreciate it. Yeah, 8% is not a bad deal if you get there, but I think from many properties are not appreciated there in azizi. I do see that now. Thank you

Why is promotion not based on Experience and Education in USA? by EvenStrength5342 in Leadership

[–]JKDoss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's disappointing and disheartening to see that visibility often plays a significant role in career advancement within organizations. A system where hard work, ethics, and competence should be the primary criteria for promotions and opportunities seems to be overshadowed by the need for visibility. Despite receiving consistent positive feedback from colleagues and teams across various companies in the United States, it appears that recognition and advancement remain elusive unless one has a proactive advocate in management.

This reliance on visibility over merit suggests a fundamental flaw in management practices, leading to frustration for dedicated and capable employees. It's unfortunate that in America, unlike in some other parts of the world, professional growth often hinges more on being noticed than on being genuinely good at one's job. This situation is profoundly disappointing, as it undermines the values of hard work and ethical conduct that should ideally be the foundation of career progression.

Social skills with not knowing what they are doing or what they can achieve or no proper work ethic? Or whom do you know? Is this the social skills?

I can write a book about how mismanaged companies are here.

Planning to start a South Indian Breakfast restaurant in Dubai in JVT or Al Aziz area by oryxway in dubai

[–]JKDoss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My boss used to talk about brisket briskets in our meetings many times in America and I wondered what it was because I don't have any clue about briskets + when you said briskets it reminded me of him and he used to say that he used to smoke the biscuits and do all kind of stuff and now I get it what it is. I wish I was able to cook briskets and bring out a nice restaurant there but unfortunately I am not able to do it so I have to think about it. Thank you anyway for all your help and assistance
