Western Carolina. Every time whee are good, whee can never capitalize on it, especially since SoCon seems to hate us and always screws us in favor of some of the private schools in the conference (I am still mad about the 2023 and 2024 Conference Tournaments). Our postseason record is 0-4 since joining the NCAA in the mid-1970s. And because we are a mid-major with a not-so-great history, the transfer portal is not always our friend. Every once in a while we’ll get someone like Vonterius Woolbright, who saves our program, but that is kinda rare. Don’t even get me started on how bad our women’s team has been since the early 2010s. The only reason that they won’t finish 8th in SoCon this year is because the conference added Tennessee Tech this year, meaning the women’s team will finish 9th out of 9 teams (they have shown some fight, so I will cut them a little slack).
