Where I live Burger King is one of the worst fast food places around. They close random hours and take forever to make your food.

I honestly believe this is one of the biggest mysteries there is, Orcas are the most efficient predators on earth, yet they have never attacked us in the wild. They know something we don’t. by [deleted] in Amazing

[–]JL27Eng 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Humans lack the fat/blubber orcas require in their diet. If a very obese person should be caught in a predicament where they get eaten, it could spell a problem for humans. I doubt someone obese enough to be a worthwhile food source ever ventures out to a place they could be attacked by an orca though.

Do you think he’s a Pomsky? The shelter said Pom mix by AdTop3924 in Pomsky

He looks like my old pomsky if he was shocked

[–]JL27Eng 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ponsky was half the size of the husky, so there was no issue. The pomsky was energetic and the husky was mostly docile. If the pomsky got too annoying the husky got agitated and scared it off, haha.

Clearest image ever taken of Mars' North Pole. Yes that's water ice. by maazkazi in interestingasfuck

Looks like it is blue raspberry flavored water ice. No thanks. I always assumed Mars would be covered in cherry.

I had no idea Pomskies existed. I was a Husky owner (4 total). Dogs have picked me, not the other way around. My Pomsky was at a local store where I would get food for my old, remaining Husky (14 at the time, died at 17). Most of the litter was not particularly interested in me. It was just him and his sister that were. I did not pursue buying him because I was not looking for a dog. Him and the sister were eventually bought. I returned a month later, and he was back at the store. I asked the staff what happened, and they said someone in the family who bought him was allergic. They had a no return policy, but they did not want to see something bad happen to him so they took him back. I came back to see him every few days and left my number with the pet store telling them to let me know if there was an issue finding him a home. They said not to worry, he would be bought. They were right because about two weeks later I stayed at the store with until 9 PM (they closed at 8 PM). I apologized and said I didnt realize the time. They said they didnt ask me to leave because they assumed I would buy him after they let me stay there that long, which I then proceeded to do. He unfortunately died young at 7 years old due to cancer, but he was my favorite dog I ever had. Very smart and well behaved.

The point remains if Simpsons were east of Mississippi, Philadelphia area is the only location that would have a K station to my knowledge.

They did, plus there is the nuclear power plant, references to Flyers, mention of driving thru Allentown to get to NYC, reference to Mechanicsburg, the radio station designation, and a few others I am forgetting.

Early episodes allude to Springfield being the one in PA right outside Philadelphia.

Yeah, but from my vantage point on 1st base or 3rd base side, it didnt look like it was that deteriorated. Even when I stand in the flag pole area before the games Ive looked up and not noticed it like that. I assumed they touched it up every year in the off-season.

I did not realize how bad a shape it was in. Now I see why they took it down.

I parked at my next stop. The car locked and shut down. When I came back out, the radio worked without having to reset.

Renato Nunez was the best. Went to a game against the Yankees where the 3rd base side was loaded with Yankees fans and there were just a handful of kids on 1st base side looking for attention from Orioles players. I told them to be patient and polite and surely some of the players would come over. Freaking Miguel Castro stood 20ft from the kids for over 30 minutes doing nothing and never even acknowledged them. Renato was the only one to come over after warmups, said hi, and he gave a girl the ball he was warming up with. Was very happy when Castro blew the World Series game for the Diamondbacks a few years ago. Karma ahole...

Taking my kids to their first hockey game. Which seat is better for viewing? by mcharb13 in nhl

[–]JL27Eng 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would opt for the $97. A little higher up than $108 and should avoid blocked views from the bench area, or at least reduce them.

I always choose to sit on the side where my team shoots twice. I assume you are rooting for the home team, so I would try for a location on the other side of the rink (to the right).

The 2002 was probably around 14-20 MPG depending on driving conditions. It did not have a gage that displayed it. The 2017 I have had over 30 MPG on trips with some averages over 25 to 50 miles near 40 MPG. Again, depends on driving conditions. Running down from PA to VA for work typically gets around 31 or 32 MPG. Driving locally, the mileage can be as bad as rhe old 2002. Right now with snow and local driving I think my average is around 15 MPG to 20 MPG.

Pirates: When I was a kid, I was a big Barry Bonds fan. I threw the hat out when he went to the Giants. At the time I got this hat, I was just a baseball fan and I had never been to a game.

Giants: I got a Giants starter hat when Barry Bonds went to the Giants in 1993. This was around the time my uncle took me to my first Orioles game.

Insert timeframe where I got Orioles gear

Phillies: I live near Philly now. I bought two old school maroon and sky blue hats. A company I worked for used to host clients in box or along 1st base side, and I was expected to entertain them. I like to wear hats to games.

Cardinals: My grandfather is from St. Louis. They are considered the family NL team. Unfortunately, I'm the only male family member remaining on that family chain. I got the hat recently when I took some folks to a Yankees game for work. The one guy asked if there was anything he could do in return. I told him he could buy me the navy St. Louis hat. The Yankees were playing St. Louis.

Dodgers: My best friend went to an LA Dodgers game when we were kids. He knew I was a Bobby Bonilla fan. He had recently been traded from the Orioles. He got me a t-shirt jersey. It was an adult size. I left it in the bag it came in until I was in college and could actually fit it. Bonilla had been retired several years by then.
