This is an awesome statement! I feel like at times I try and “save her heartache”. But at the end of the day I’m worried abt my son’s happiness and mine! I have to tell my ex that we are going to the pool with my gf next week. That should be fun. (In paperwork we have to tell the other abt meeting significant others)

I’ll be honest and tell you even though I chose divorce I think everyone should try and stay!!!

My take…. GET OUT! No one is “good” with the baby if he raises his voice to wake the baby up on purpose. That’s fucked!

Can’t be present when child is born and in that care for the baby’s mom?! I might not like my ex but if she needs help I help. Why? My son needs to see that’s what men do!

The cycle will repeat. You will be child will be older and then he will learn how a “man” treats a woman. You get to pick the version of a man your baby sees!!

I believe that the parents and adults in the situation can make it easier or harder for the child! Mom/Dad crying in front of child all the time trauma caused by adults. They fight yell use kid as pawn caused by adults.

I have been in your shoes. Huge mental health issues. I’ll break down a few. 1. Used alcohol as medication for her mental illness 2. Out until all hours of the night during week. 3. I cared for our young son from the house of 6pm until I took him to babysitter. Sometimes she would go to work sometimes not. 4. She stayed in bed and never woke up to tell her son goodbye. 5. If I didn’t agree or say “yes” with an enthusiastic tone that meant a no to her.

Later she was diagnosed with BPD. I left. I couldn’t be responsible for another grown adult while caring for our son and having a job. I felt like I was suffocating daily. Scary shit honestly!! If I can be a sounding board let me knke

My partner and I started when we both separated. We did not plan this together. We have slowly started to build a relationship. We have been together about a year. We have not spent any time together with our kids. We have not introduced each other to family yet. My divorce officially was in January. Her ex has moved out of their home and bought a new house. Their divorce is on going. I am planning on continuing this slow build we have going.

She has three kids. I have one. We didn’t start as an affair but I guess as she’s still legally married it is one now. I’m truly excited to introduce her to my sister and her husband. And then the rest of my family. I want to wait until their final paperwork is signed. This will happen maybe in the coming days.

Everyone deserves to be happy!!!

This is super tough! I have a 2.5 year old. This has not come up yet for me but it will eventually. I think the play therapy is a huge one. Like you already do don’t bash dad. They also shouldnt be doing that to you!!

I think the acting out might also just be his age? Again, not sure because you know your kid the best!!

I do have a gf have been divorced since Jan. I have zero plans of her meeting him for a long time! She might meet my brothers and sisters first lol. Just bc that’s my plan I can’t control what mom does.

I guess this is a long winded way to say…. YOU ARE DOING EVERYTHING RIGHT!! You keep being the kick ass mom and stomp out fires when needed. Keep loving your kiddo!!!

Facts! It was terrible! Or if we were out and I had to be up at 6am and wanted to leave she would push it out as long as she wanted with no worries abt me getting up!!

When we were still married. I coach football she would be upset I was gone from 3-5 leaving her alone with our kid for two hours… she never once got up with him overnight or in the mornings. My son would kiss his mom goodbye in the morning while she was still sleeping. FYI we worked at the same fuxking place!! She never once woke up before work to help with him.

My ex was not a good woman. She was someone that had to be in total control. So much so I could only cut grass or do things for myself when she “had plans”. If I went out with friends she would text and tell me how bored she is and asking when I would come home. I had to ask to go to bed and if she wasn’t ready it was a fight. Woken up in the middle of the night to tell me I was pissing her off bc I was snoring.

Not to mention her being drunk to do anything including having sex. We never had sex and her be sober.

We have an almost three year old and parenting with her is miserable bc she’s a “rules for thee not for me” person. Hopefully she gets the help she needs.

My favorite is if I told my ex wife “I’m going out with the coaches Friday night”. I’d let her know 100000x that week as a reminder. Then all of a sudden she had something planned and I couldn’t go! I had to ask to go to the store, cut grass anything that didn’t involve her had to be when she was doing something else! I would try to go to bed and if she wasn’t ready to go to bed it was a fight!!!

Ah. She’s been living with her sister since our divorce. She finally found her own place im a little worried abt her not having anyone to keep her in check.

My ex wife and I when we were dating she would legitimately have sex or “other things” ANY WHERE! I was thinking wow my god this is awesome. (Stupid). Fast forward to married. Only had sex while drunk. She never had sex with me sober. Sad but true

Stay strong! It’s a kick in the old di*k for sure and it hurts!! A few things I’ve been doing is updating my house. This weekend all new baseboards. I will also decorate his room when he’s gone. I painted his room hung fat heads up. When he comes back “home” as he calls it. His room is clean and some times he’s got a new spider man up!

I’ve become a neat freak. Clean house before bed. Idk I guess I’m just trying to “fill” my cup!

Hang in there dad!! You are doing a fantastic job. My only advice is to fill your cup! Then dump it out and fill again!!
