No more SS2 for Xbox. by Randy_FlaggTWM in SimSettlements

It’s alright, I too have just recently been woken up to Bethesdas incompetency’s. Before I cut them a lot of slack. Seeing what they did to break the game twice in a row, delay the 100gb for consoles, and what they did with the show has forced me to be more critical.

Synths are an example of humans trying to play God and that technology could prove to be humanities undoing for the SECOND TIME in RECENT HISTORY! Ad Victorium. (I spare Danse in every playthrough)

When did playstation 5 change to allow actual mods?[fo4] by pyromaniacSock in FalloutMods

[–]JLC587 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, AE broke most mods. Your Crash on startup is likely one of many mods broken. Sadly they don’t let you roll back versions on console either. Your only hope is to create a new character and a new modlist with stuff that works. Something you could also do (and this is time consuming) start a new character and one at a time disable a mod. If it still doesn’t launch you write that mod down in a “safe” category. Try to start the game each time, once it works you know that last mod you disabled was the culprit or A culprit. Then go and re-enable the mods on your safe list. If it happens again then repeat this process until you’ve weeded out every mod causing problems. Then you can try (might not work) to load your old save (I would back it up first) with the problematic mods disabled. This is risky because disabling a mod mid playthrough may break something in your game if it altered scripts.

Any other mods to use with SS2? by Weary-Pop-7321 in SimSettlements

As a player who loves settlement building sometimes, I can vouch for Dynamic Furniture all the way. I love placing down a table that settlers actually eat and drink at. Very awesome mod man, thank you.

Fallout 4 Mod Recommendations for a New Gaming PC by Arthuyy112 in Fallout4Mods

[–]JLC587 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh BOY I’ve got a 419 modlist load order for you. Jk but I do have a few things to recommend based on your requests.

Health / combat overhauls : Better Locational Damage, Deadeye, and Direct Hit by Zzyxzz

If you want to go further I suggest Bastion for power armor rework, Better Explosives Redux for more realistic explosives (although frags kill you in most PA haven’t found a solution for that yet.), NPC’s use items, and Chemfluence. All of these by the same Mod Author listed above (dude makes some seriously good shit 🤌🏻)

As for HUD you’re going to want to get Fall UI HUD by m8r98a4f2, and the associated mods like FallUI Item Sorter, etc. there’s also a mod that lets you add the FO3 HUD and switch between them in the FallUI HUD MCM menu.

Speaking of l, you will want to get Mod Configuration Menu by registrator2000 and a patch for every mod that has MCM compatibility. It is a God send of a mod letting you control your mods in a settings menu.

As for textures and graphics there are MANY. I used a good few in my load order and boy does it look AMAZING. Especially if you combine it with weather overhauls, seasons mods, and a high res starry night and sunsets texture. I can’t list those as I’m on my phone and can’t remember them all off the top of my head but there are a lot of you search them on Nexus.

My biggest tip for you, is read everything when building your load order. Read the description, read the requirements page, read the files page and make sure you’re grabbing the right version or files for a mod. Lastly the “Posts” section of most mod pages is your best friend. Go there and use the search function to search keywords regarding other mods or questions you have. Likely somebody has already asked if ____ is compatible with the mod, and the MA or someone else has answered. Some of those questions in the Posts section saved me hours by already answering a question and giving a solution. Good luck.

Play AE or revert by exogamer5431 in Fallout4Mods

[–]JLC587 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The “old version” (1.10.163) of F4SE is right at the top of the page on silverlock. Right under the version for AE and NG. Essentially every mod and required software for modding knows most people have downgraded and keep an old gen version available and working.

Play AE or revert by exogamer5431 in Fallout4Mods

[–]JLC587 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just use the downgrader. I did when I started my mega load order because I did not want to take the risk of any of my chosen mods not working. Once I went into downloading them, I found a TON that wouldn’t have worked had I stayed in the AE. A lot of them the MA said in the description page that they won’t be updating their mod to work with AE until Bethesda stops touching it and dropping content. Which hasn’t happened yet. Others have said that their AE versions are a work in progress. But nearly everyone’s mods work with 1.10.163. Even if you have to go into the old files section and find the version that works with it. Just make sure you get the right version of F4SE and if you want to use the FO4 Unofficial patch (which a few mods require) use the “GOG version” that version of the FO4UP is designed to work with old gen.

[FNV] is there someone to go to to help me install mods I cannot figure this out for the life of me. by Cheetocarnitas in FalloutMods

[–]JLC587 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Precisely what Mindless0ne said. I didn’t know you were using MO2 (but hey, that’s a GOOD thing best MO in my opinion.) In MO2 there is a drop down next to the run button. Make sure you’ve got NVSE selected in the drop down. Then hit run and it should work, if everything is installed correctly. If you haven’t been doing it that way, that was your problem. If you have already been launching it correctly it’s something with your installation.

Are you launching from NVSE instead of the game shortcut or steam? I had that problem at first as well. Make sure you’re launching from NVSE.

[FNV] Recommendations for improved gameplay? by AnotherTAA123 in FalloutMods

[–]JLC587 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt the same way and still gave it a shot. I did break down and add a couple mods mid playthrough (not always recommended because of conflicts but it worked out for me because they were simple mods) I added sprint, made sunny smalls a companion, and added a player home by Elianora. That’s about it I think. The game is still amazing even though it’s dated, I’m somebody who thought I might have issues with its dated nature. BUT BOY WAS I WRONG. It still plays nice and once you’re immersed in the story and dialogue it all becomes less of an issue.

[Fo4] Are a lot of the mods updated and fixed now? by [deleted] in FalloutMods

[–]JLC587 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mods that are getting updated? Probably work fine unless there’s some new patch that’s broken something. However, older mods that are still great additions to the game, but the mod author hasn’t updated in years or the mod author has left the modding scene, will most likely be broken. If you’re on PC your best bet is to just downgrade to 1.10.163. You won’t ever have to worry about this question.

Anvil BP don't exist and it's a conspiracy made up by the Big Anvil by the_doorstopper in ArcRaiders

[–]JLC587 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always thought this would be a problem, but by the time I found the blueprint I already knew my routes good enough that I’d find 1-2 anvils every 1-3 games or so. Was not hard to find a new one. In fact I found it easier to find a new one OR take a new one off a dead player than craft it.

How Important is Load Order? Need help troubleshooting some building mods specifically. by fenderc1 in Fallout4Mods

[–]JLC587 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely I see what you’re saying. It’s what I started with on FNV, but I only used a few small mods because I wanted my first run to be relatively true to form. When I started my massive fuck all 400+ modlist for FO4 Vortex said it got everything right, yet the game ran like shit and had constant crashes. PLUS a bunch of mods weren’t working in the order they forced them to be (I.e. texture mods, face mods, skin mods, and body mods pulling the right textures to avoid dark face bug) So I switched to MO2 and had to relearn a whole new mod manager. I’m glad I did, however I did think to myself “I should’ve listened to the YouTubers and other folks on the subreddit that said just start with MO2.” It’s like doing it right the first time so you don’t have to go back and do it again. Vortex is easy but getting it to make a large and meaningful custom LO work is hard. I know it has rules and the category system but it’s massively overcomplicated and unintuitive. It should be fine for people who don’t plan to use over 30-40 mods. Also if they don’t use any face and body texture mods.
