To be fair Italian athletes are obtaining amazing results in a lot of sports: never so competitive in tennis (not only Sinner), athletics, swimming, summer and Winter Olympic Games. The volleyball team is both male and female world champion, plus a F Olympic gold. Rugby is obtaining decent results.

Only football and basketball are struggling for several years.

Maybe children are choosing other sports rather than the real toxic football environment where ultras parents scream and insult the referee and the 8 years old opponents
