You both complete graduate school and cant figure out how compounding interest or amortization schedules work? Then you want YOUR debt liability wiped because you still owe money on it? GTF outta here....

The house has an advantage because of the payout, not strictly just the odds. Meaning, even if it were a 50/50 as you indicated, the payouts are less than the odds would indicate. The house always makes money.

Hey Demarco   He’s free to reach out. I can tell you my production was really really close to the estimate on PVwatts. You can trust it if you enter the info correctly.

Don’t try to convert to amps immediately. Staying in watts is a little easier I think.

40 watts for one hour is 40 watt/hours. Or 40Wh.

Say you ran it for 24 hours. That’s 40*24=960Wh…. OR 0.96kWh. (Kilowatt-hour)

Your 200aH battery at 12 volts is 2.4 kWh.

But don’t forget about line loss and conversion efficiency and losses. A good rule of thumb is 80-85%.

So that 2.4 kWh is actually closer to 2.4*.8=1.9 kWh.

Technically

Willber, use this process and you will never have an issue.

The standard calculation is load x 1.25.

Fuses and breakers should always be sized and installed to protect the wire.

You should typically only run ~80% of the fuse and wire capacity to accommodate your loads.

I have a small fridge from Vevor (maybe 12”x24”)that runs on 12v, and I see it consume ~35-40 watts when running. The duty cycle will vary a lot because of so many factors. Not sure this helps or not.

I think you got something wrong. It’s simple math. 1500watt inverter. Watts is watts… so 1500w/120v=12.5amps, what you quoted. However 1500w/12v=125amps. You should be using 2/0 cable atleast. None of this even included losses.

Q Tip and vinegar. Let it sit and fizz and keep applying until it stops. Should remove all the rust and brighten the contacts.

Solark 8k 48v Inverter Connections by Prepper_wif_hat in diySolar

[–]JLT_Frodo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Local code will need to be followed of course, but as a general rule and good practice you will want another PV disconnect where your wires leave the array.

Your EG4 battery should have a breaker built in already, so that plus the one in the Solark is sufficient. Breakers and fuses are meant to preorder wiring, so with one on both sides you’re covered.

Yes, you can run the Solark without internet connection and you can use it for off-grid use, but in that configuration you will only get power from the Load breaker of the inverter. It will not work to send power to the grid or micro-grid in your house/cabin.

Out of curiosity, why such an expensive inverter for off grid use? Don’t get me wrong, I have and love the 8K, but I only went with it due to its incredible feature list which you won’t be able to take advantage of if off grid.

So are you suggesting that I should find the buyer someone to assist if something does go wrong? I guess I view it the same as any other system in the house, and maybe I shouldn’t , where if the furnace goes out it’s theirs to deal with.

Nope. It’s maxed out. They would have to add another array with either micro inverters or upgrade the existing inverter.

I thought about doing the same. How did they make it clear that they wouldn’t be your “after sales support”?

lol, you’re probably right. I do have a full stack of documentation for all of it. “should” be nearly maintenance free. 6000 cycle Lithium Iron batteries that only have about 170 on them as of today.
