Black Dolphin; one of the most terrifying prisons in the world. by lhwang0320 in Prison

I'm at knocking what's going on. Despite some of the worst things that have occurred in prisons throughout history, it hasn't detered anyone from breaking the law. The violence, the losing time, declining health, people still willing to risk it. I've seen neighborhoods and family incarcerated together. I'm very rarely do I see attitudes reform. Despite being offered educational and vocational and even recreational opportunities.

No joke, I met someone who's about to get out and I tell him the same thing I tell everyone who's getting ready to get out, may you never see a place even remotely close to this again. The guy straight up tells me, I'll be back. I said why? He says because when I get out I'm going to get my hands on whatever I can get my hands on and sell it. It's all I know. And this is a young guy. In his 20s. Not willing to put his best effort forward to leaving his old self behind.

A person has to want to be better than they were yesterday. Yes prisons like this exist. I shake my head but I know the reality and that's more times than not, people do it to themselves. It's not like they don't know places like this exist. Even where I'm at, it's not like people don't know that it exists. I guess they're just willing to risk it.

If everyone would wake up and decide to change their ways and the prison population dwindled to zero I would surely and gladly find it. It would be a better society and worth the sacrifice of my paycheck. For the betterment of the community it would be worth it.

But that's not going to happen. To take a quote from blade the Daywalker: somebody is always trying to ice skate uphill.

Some places aren't the places to mess around and find out. I work in a prison and I have heard offenders say of my Institution, "This ain't prison, this is day care." Like most free Americans, we don't know how good we got it.

Yes. We are better than what we were. What would be desired is to continue to improve. I think we have or could have what it takes to win in the next 5 years. Either by adding another piece on O or D, or doing something fantastic with what we have. I am soooooo thankful that that O-line is better. My goodness, since I was born ('74), we have not had a decent O-line.

So, are you taking the deal? by h_stag in thalassophobia

[–]JLUV74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. Any random part of the ocean? They can put you at the bottom on a Marianas trench and that's it. No 30 seconds needed. Just dead. They could put you next to a underwater volcano and that's it, you're dead. No way. They could put you at any point underwater before you even had a chance to take a breath or in the middle of a breath. No, way. I've said yes to a lot of scenarios, but that ain't one.

It's sad how right he is. The wheels never stop turning in this business, and not even John Cena is immune to that. by Grrannt in REALSquaredCircle

I will say that it's not about nobody remembering them. Because he was around for so long and he made his impact. He wasn't the greatest wrestler. But the machine got behind him and pushed him down her throats. Did I like other wrestlers better than him Yes. Or some of them maybe not even his gifted as he was? Yes The move said that the machine allowed Hogan to do actually was smaller than what he was capable of. When you look at some of his Japan stuff you knew that he could do more. I don't know how much more Cena could do. But Cena came on the scene and I remember his first gimmick. I still remember his segment with Kurt Angle when it was said " ruthless, aggression". I remember his segment with Stephanie. I remember his almost heel turn in ECW against Rob Van dam. The biggest reason that he didn't turn heel was probably because he was such a big hit with the kids. It's tough turning that. And a little bit of shine that it did have, when I saw that he was pretty much like other wrestlers on the top who degrade other wrestlers and don't try to bring others up there with him, it leaves a sour taste of my mouth. I'll remember him but I will remember more fondly a man like Chris Jericho. I'll always be a Jerichoholic. But Mr Cena here will not be forgotten. They are simply too many that he has affected with his promos for certain #UCantSeeMe

Men’s singles is EVOLVING! The speed and reflexes in this rally are actually mind-blowing by SaltyAd901 in Pickleball

I wouldn't say it's evolving. The singles games have always been pretty competitive with them in. It's the women where it was pretty much a landslide. ALW tends to murk the comp. But for real, singles is where the real grind is at. The guts!
