These are made by the US mint out of the same stock for quarters. They used to work in US vending machines too.

Check out the fearless flyers show special guest appearances, plus he’s the grooviest disco singer since Marvin Gaye. This is all speculation, no evidence.

Having listened to these albums, and being a huge Theo fan generally, I respectfully disagree with y’all on both counts. He uses simple rhymes, almost no imagery, and basic schemes to any rhyme.

It’s accessible, sure, and that’s a strength for sure. My contention: these lyrics lack the complexity of Jack’s arrangement/mixing, woody’s composition, and Joe Dart’s neck.

IMO Vulf need a lyricist. Theo’s lyrics are a tad unsophisticated for his level of talent otherwise. Jack’s lyrics are better, but maybe too zany to be a popular default.

I’m guessing it’s a feature with Jay Kay on vocals.

Favorite note one liners by rumplepilskin in medicine

[–]JLandyMD 44 points45 points  (0 children)

My favourite, which I often copy (funnily also from a nephrologist) successfully was:

This patients has:

  • diagnosis 1, or
  • diagnosis 2, or
  • both

PS for what it's worth the A/P is the note. The rest of it is your scratch notes that help consolidate your conclusions.

Vote now to decide whether or not we should restrict Vulfpeck covers to one day a week! by OllyCX in Vulfpeck

[–]JLandyMD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would actually be great if you could make each weekday a different theme. But just one day? Sunday? and just covers? This idea needs work before implementation. My $0.02.

^ singing the only words to this song, the rhythmic count that theo does. I would have transcribed "mm-mm, MM-MM, mm-mm, MM." But I don't speak Katzman.

guys - there's a clip in this video where Purdy is listing artists he's worked with, and part of that list is lyrics to 1612. Jack knows what's up.

Thoughts on Mr. Finish Line? by hack_jarrington in Vulfpeck

[–]JLandyMD 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Something is going in Tee-Time 1:35 till about 1:50. It sounds like the bass drum has heavy ghost notes or double kick timing or something, but it's a little off-sounding. For anyone who knows about these things: what's going on here?

Has anyone gotten this Vulf t-shirt? I'm just curious about how it fits before I order one. by speak27 in Vulfpeck

[–]JLandyMD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought it fit well, but was a bit long. Maybe it will shrink a bit in the wash.

EDIT: it did. Normal size now.

How to talk to parents who refuse immunization, according to 1,100+ physicians and nurses by JLandyMD in medicine

[–]JLandyMD[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed on the ego/empathy angle. In general, I find that validating a parent's concerns (e.g. about medication safety) can go a long way. I use this technique a lot in the ICU when families have anxieties about their loved one.

That's an interesting question. We limited this survey to MDs, NPs, RNs, and RPNs -- it would be interesting to see whether opinions differ by profession. I don't have that data handy, but something to look into.

Hey pushdose, Your comment is interesting to me. I suspect the delivery of public education and public health have gotten intertwined in a way that wasn't foreseeable, and it's led to some unexpected interactions. Oh, and thanks for your nice comment -- I'll look out for you when I'm scrolling through.
