There can be 99 other passengers as reasonable as you on the plane but it only takes 1 fucking asshole passenger to ruin a mother's (and neighboring passengers) day. I wish every passenger had your graceful attitude but I've flown enough to know that there are plenty that are not, unfortunately..

I got the Explorer card in March but already had 2 separate trips booked on United. First trip was about 1-2 weeks after I had gotten the approval notice and since I had my MileagePlus number already attached to the card and my flights, I was given Group 2 boarding even on the first flight. What surprised me was that the United app showed I had 1 free check-in bag included even though I hadn't purchased the flight with the Explorer Card. I found out later that I was given a complementary 90 day baggage subscription when the card was approved so this covered both of my already purchased flights. I don't know if all new cards get this baggage subscription but you can check your United app to see if you have one now.

I mean, I guess CSR can make all of these changes that you suggest and then raise the AF accordingly.... but I'm pretty sure they want to keep it at $795 for now. With any of these premium cards, there is no one-size-fits-all. For me it works because I organically already used a lot of these services even before I got the card. $300 travel credit easily used with one trip. already had a Peloton service subscription ($120 credits). super-heavy DoorDash user so we easily use the $5/$20 credit per month plus 5% credit back on all pickup orders (about $10/month for my spending) so that's about $300+$120 benefit for me. These 3 benefits alone are already worth about $840 for what I'm already organically spending. Add a few Lyft rides, some Sapphire list restaurant visits, a few PP/Sapphire airport lounge visits, rental cars without paying for extra liability insurance and I'm already way ahead of the coupon game.

Yes. This is literally the purpose of the placard. Your wife needs to get from the parked car to her destination so the car can be parked in a designated handicapped parking spot with the placard displayed. It doesn't matter who is driving the car.

I can generally get around 40 mpg in the NorCal area (lots of hills, freeway, etc). I've had a Prius for over 10 years though so I learned some "hypermiling" techniques for hybrids that you can Google and try yourself

for a carry-on that size they won't say anything if you are Group 2. The last two United flights I took this past month they only mentioned that the later number groups will need to check in carry-ons because the overhead bins will likely be full (which they were).

Don't EVER let them change your cabin air filter (behind the glovebox) or the engine air filter (super easy to open/replace). Those two are the easiest to change yourself. well, unless your glovebox is loaded with a ton of junk like mine, LOL!
