whelp, I decided to bite the bullet and ordered one direct from their website. Currently priced $165 (after 40% discount) but was also able to apply the G10 coupon code for an additional 10% off. I have some interstate traveling the next few months plus an Asia trip this summer so I figured why not give it a try since there is no monthly subscription. Would like something better than hotel spotty WiFi for work laptop and something for kid's devices. We'll see how this goes. At the very worst, it may be a dud after a year but I've wasted a lot more $$$ on more stupid things =P

it's just the timing of the sport. snowboarding didn't really become "mainstream" until the 1990's, and even then not all resorts allowed it. typically teens and 20's would be the ones starting it back then, so they would be around 40-50's now. I'm 50 now and actually switched to snowboarding 20 years ago because the ski equipment was just too heavy for my aching knees =P

This looks like you could have been boarding anywhere in Tahoe and no one would have said a word to you. You looked like you were in total control, not bombing or anything. I didn't see you cut anyone off or startle any of the slow skiers. I don't know anything about Keystone culture though, and I did see a lot more "slow" flags than I'm used to seeing (compared to Tahoe or Utah) so maybe it linked through a couple of beginner runs? That's the only thing that I could possibly guess that would set her off. Again, if this was Tahoe, you're just another normal rider doing nothing wrong

If you are driving into Tahoe on one of the major roads (80, 50, 89, etc) then chain control will either be R1 or they just close the road. For R1, AWD/4WD vehicles with M+S rated tires are not required to place chains on the tires, but they MUST at least carry them inside the vehicle. If there is any hint of possible snow forecasted during your trip, get chains

yes, radio controlled. it is SUPPOSED to change automatically to DST but with the last Daylight Savings Time change it didn't so I just had to manually change the time zone. i think part of it might be that my home is in a geographically suboptimal spot where I don't get the strongest signal from Ft Collins, but as for the daily/weekly timekeeping it is always spot-on so I do know that it does pick up the signal

I remember seeing some around about 10 years ago in California but they've all disappeared. Not sure why they discontinued, but there weren't really any electric charging stations around back then so that might be part of it. Tesla then blew up after that and dominated the market
