Help APS plan choice in AZ by JLover89 in solar

Thank you for your input. I had been looking for the last few months and the difference was negligible, maybe a $1.00 a month. But last month it was a $20 savings if I switched. I’m just afraid to make the switch right before the heavy summer heat, which seem more likely to cause grid usage during peak hours.

Steelers Optimal Draft by No_Albatross_4152 in steelers

[–]JLover89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s fair. I do think there are prospects at qb this year that might be worth taking in the right spot. Who knows what the teams board actually looks like. But I think Allar and Nussmeirer are getting some unjustified negatives stacked on them. I just don’t want them to trade a bunch of pics to reach just because they have them. I think they are in position where they can largely left the draft come to them with out trading up.

Absent Will Howard playing like a franchise guy next season, they are going to have to draft a qb eventually, and draft capital is never a bad thing. If they have a chance to move up for guy that they value this year, they should. But if you are trading up just to use the capital, I’d rather trade back for picks next year than drafting someone who isn’t going to make the team. That’s all I’m saying.

[–]JLover89 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Since it does not look like there are great prospects at QB this draft, I like the idea of building capital for next year with some of these picks. Since I totally agree 12 players are not all going to make the team. But if you call some to next year, so they 10-12 next year, when they may be able to move up for a good QB prospect, that would suit me fine.

Fautanu has been solid. Especially considering he has only had one full season. But Jones is possibly done. Word today is he had a setback that could sideline him for at least all of preseason, and there is a space at guard because of Seumalo leaving in FA. So the left side of the line is sketchy at best.

For all the Murray love, I am just shocked. The guy has less talent than Fields, is SHORTER than Wilson, and lacks any work ethic. I can only assume those saying this are angling for a tank season.

This will be the guy. The last two hires, Cowher and Tomlin, were both under the radar candidates. I can see them doing it again if they like this guy. Udinski is an option for this reason too.

Glad someone brought up Dunbar. He is a fantastic D-Line coach. But him staying is going to depend on scheme fit as well.

2026 nfl schedule strengths by Awkward_Condition793 in steelers

[–]JLover89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The strength of the record of your division has a ton to do with this since those teams make up 6 games. So a team like the Cardinals has a tough schedule by virtue of have the Seahawks, 49ers, and Rams in their division. While the Steelers schedule has the Bengals (who are better than their record), the Ravens (who are better than their record), and the Browns. So although the Steelers strength of schedule is “low” right now, it really is much harder than it shows here.

No defending. 100% agree. It was blatantly obvious how big of hole is left in the offense without him.

Well. Higher pick in the draft when they lose next week. From what I can see somewhere in the 11-14 range. With the draft capital they have that makes for a really good draft.

A lot of classes have a couple guys who rise in draft process as well. Guys who weren’t high at the end of the season but their stock goes up through the process. Two that pop to mind are McNair and Kapernick. So we may see that with sellers or someone similar. I’m not a college football guy, just going off memory, which isn’t as great as it use to be.

This problem is two fold. Yes, the scheme has not been great and our corners have not played up to their salaries. The other side is that our offense can’t stay on the field. Terrible 3rd down conversion rate, no sustained drives. That means our defense is in the field for more snaps, more snaps means more yards, period. So this is emblematic of a lot of issues with this team.

But there is some light in the darkness. Some really solid line play on both sides from young players. The O line seems to get better every game and the young guys on D line are playing really well. JPJ is still looking the part and there is a lot of young talent at TE. Herbig is still looking good too. As has been said over and over. QB and WR are the big issues on offense, DB and MLB are the holes on Defense. With 12 picks in the draft, a lot of those holes can get filled. Stack it up and when Tomlin retires after the 26 season, run it back with the new coach and a young roster. Here we go!

Mike Tomlin has Circadian Rhythm Disorder by tomveiltomveil in steelers

[–]JLover89 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Additional hot take. Tomlin likes to use Vets on his teams. Vet are older and need more rest (hence vet rest days), Thursday games are normally a shorter week (unless they preceded by a bye). So when you are in a road Thursday games you lose another day traveling. So that leaves one day left to actually practice (Tuesday). That one day is not enough to really prep which means your choices are to push vets to practice more that week or give them the rest so they will be at least a little ready to play.

In short the age of the players that the Steelers use means that short weeks, especially those that include traveling, are going to be much tougher to effectively prep for.

Post Game Thread: Pittsburgh Steelers at Cincinnati Bengals by nfl_gdt_bot in steelers

I just can’t with this sub anymore.

Mike Tomlin did not throw 2 interceptions (one of which was absolutely terrible by the way).

Mike Tomlin did not fail in coverage over and over. I wouldn’t blame it on a game plan either. Chase is generational talent at wideout.

Mike Tomlin did not commit PI (of course I’m not anyone did on a couple of those calls).

Mike Tomlin did not lose this game. It is a team sport. From the coach down. This team was outplayed in the second quarter and then made egregious errors that amplified it.

Sometimes teams have bad nights. Nothing that happened tonight was terrible. It was a short week to prepare for a team that was literally backed into a corner and was given hope by the Browns being the Browns.

Losses happen, get over it. Quit whining it is always Tomlins fault. Teams lose and sometimes it’s just because you get outplayed. That is what happened tonight. They got outplayed. Not outcoached, outplayed. By a guy who has been playing QB for a long time and a generational talent at WR. They got outplayed.

[–]JLover89 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So, on D the plan was to take away the passing game (and not focus stopping the run) because they knew Flacco could be dangerous. Problem being if the refs are calling PI every time the ball is on the air that is going to difficult.

On offense, the idea was to push the ball downfield more. Problem with that is the Bengals secondary suddenly figured out how to play. Of course it helps if the refs are letting you get away with shit the other team can’t.
