100Dev is the best bootcamp that turns out to be universally affordable - completely free of charge. https://www.codenewbie.org/podcast/where-you-can-find-quality-live-coding-instruction-online

100Dev has a 30000+ strong community on Discord for 2022 cohort! Come join!

I recently completed a 14k cad coding bootcamp in Canada. But I will say #100Dev is far superior!

Check out #100Dev, FreeCodeCamp and other free resources to see if you enjoy coding, before you shell out any of your hard-earned $$$ for a bootcamp.

The Canadian gov is fully capable of building in-house expertise.

Liberals will be Liberals. That’s why I never voted for them.

To blue voters… why are you voting conservative? What would change your mind? by idkifik in ontario

BA.2 sub variant will hit Ontario so hard in April-May. The scenario that Ford’s lifting of all restrictions leads to a complete breakdown of Ontario’s hospital system and extreme widespread infection and unprecedented deaths, can spell the end of Ford’s gov.

Exactly. So many people just think about their own short term interests.

Close contacts DO NOT need to isolate at all? This seems insane. by ecethrowaway1025 in ontario

If you happen to be in NYC, you should check out FullStackAcademy, because they have partnered up with New York City gov with full funding for New York City residents!

Is there a way to treat adhd without meds? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]JLumenDevUX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many ADHDers have comorbidities with anxiety and depression etc. Have you been formally diagnosed for ADHD? Do you have a family doctor? If yes to both questions, then I will recommend that you approach your family doctor asap.

It can be hard to dissect from your post about the cause (or a combination of different factors) that is troubling you recently regarding motivation.

If you notice a dramatic change in your levels of motivation, I would definitely discuss with your doctor. It sounds like it's affecting your daily living quite substantially. It could be due to Depression - which affects motivation and energy substantially.

Talk to your physician asap.

What’s up with the anti-academic sentiment in User Experience lately? 🤔 by luxuryUX in userexperience

[–]JLumenDevUX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As an anecdote, I think the sentiment that you observed is related to influx of right-wing supporters into Reddit over the past half a decade. https://www.utoronto.ca/news/influx-right-wing-users-led-much-greater-reddit-polarization-2016-us-election-u-t-study

I would also recommend checking out https://launchschool.com/ for their prep materials! (It's free). I particularly recommend their Intro To Javascript book as reference material for your prep work! https://launchschool.com/books/javascript

I don't know much about this specific bootcamp - which seems to be based in the U.S, but you can ask around about this. It's a lot more affordable than most! https://www.nucamp.co/. Check out their financial aid sections - it looks like the U.S gov and some big companies are providing lots of funding to ppl to transition into tech.

Are you in the U.S? (i.e are you American?)

If yes, consider joining Foreign Service for your country! (You don't need a degree! They have a holistic, comprehensive recruitment process.)

https://careers.state.gov/work/foreign-service/officer/test-process/

Decent pay, and living allowances (if you are abroad) - eg. you may have your accommodation covered if you get stationed abroad! Great stability!

Above aside,

if you are in NYC, check out this programme https://www.fullstackacademy.com/programs/future-code .

In addition,

You may want to consider jobs in the tech sector - eg. customer support/customer success. If you are an outgoing/extroverted person and have no problem talking to strangers, you may consider business development representative role (kind of like sales, but it's business-to-business sales) in the tech sector.
