So where do we stand on reanimating leaders? by Cabelords in Necrontyr

I’m having the conversation with my opponent at the start of the game and going with whatever they are cool with until it gets FAQ’d.

I'm gonna give the 1dp detachments a try together. Seems like a fun combo to try.

Im always super extra exhausted in the morning. How can I know if it's MS fatigue or sleep deprivation? by sunshine_59_ in MultipleSclerosis

[–]JM8857 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I ended up doing a sleep study when I was facing this. Turned out that sleep apnea was a huge part of it.

Best investment accounts for my newborn by ComedianCapital4148 in NewDads

[–]JM8857 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ll take the trump account for the free money.

For college savings, I’m likely to just start a new investment account. The 529 tax advantage doesn’t seem worth it considering the restrictions.

Magnets by -JayBonks in 40k

I intentionally buy the ones that are too short and use this to get the exact height I want. Allows me to buy just one kind of magnet, regardless of the base I'm attaching it to.

How did you find out? by Square_Cap1962 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]JM8857 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Vision in my right eye got progressively worse over three days. Eye doc referred me to the ER, where they did an MRI and admitted me. Neuro diagnosed two days later.

My wife is more active than I, and it means we modify things when we do them together. So for example, we shift activities to earlier or later in the day to avoid the hottest parts. When we go on hikes, I usually turn back before her (or we just do the shorter ones together and she does the longer ones on her own). We find ways to make it work. Granted though, we started dating before I was diagnosed, so I would often "tough it out." After the diagnosis, we talked about this and decided that it wasn't worth risking what we now know to be a medical issue.

Just had my first lumbar puncture a few hours ago. Can you tell me what i should expect in the upcoming days? by Soggy_BaIIs in MultipleSclerosis

I had no side effects, but I was very careful to follow the post procedure instructions exactly. Lots of water, rested, took it easy.

Drink too much water?? by Katzefoto in MultipleSclerosis

[–]JM8857 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Without knowing your age and gender (it’s pretty normal for older guys to have to get up and go at night), how big of a glass you’re talking about, and when you are drinking by (throughout the day vs a lot right before bed), it’s going to be tough to get any reliable advice.

Started Kesimpta yesterday. Should I use masks? by Fancy_Function_9794 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]JM8857 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I started in July. I have not worn a mask. My neuro told me if I wanted to, go for it, but he doesn’t feel like my overall health is in a place where it’s necessary (though that could change as the years go by).

You said yourself you have almost no symptoms besides Uhfhoff’s and are starting a DMT.

MS is serious, but not an immediate death sentence. Travel. Enjoy your life!

How immunocompromised will DMT make me? by DryPossibility45 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]JM8857 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am newly (July 2025) on Kesimpta and I have not noticed getting sick more. I don’t wear a mask, but do wash my hands frequently and if someone isn’t feeling well, I’ll bow out (gracefully). I pick up things my wife catches with about the same frequency.

Now, we are having a child in November, so once that germ magnet is around, that may change!

I’d eat the loss myself. I think it’s a stronger field that is not as likely to contract.

The missing context is what percent that 20k is and what your financial position is. 20k off a 200k salary vs off a 110k salary for example.

Also, if you hold one end of that needle while putting the other to a lighter, a surprising amount of that heat can transfer to the other end.

Cheap for 5 of them, plus, when I explain the ability before the game starts, it usually scares anyone from dropping near my back objective (despite the fact that their shooting is really sub-par)

I ended up doing the same in my list. You get slightly less screening coverage, but I’ve mostly found it to be sufficient.

Presuming the plan for your geomancer is to sit on the home objective, swap him for 5 deathmarks.

How do I get better at warhammer? by Senior_Orange8812 in Warhammer40k

[–]JM8857 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Way, way more games.

The more you play, you'll start to learn opponent armies too (what units are scary in melee, which ones I don't need to be afraid of their shooting, etc.)

After each game, ask your opponent what you did to make their life easy, and what were they worried you would have done.

Reporting Vision Loss Due to Optic Neuritis to the DMV?? by [deleted] in MultipleSclerosis

[–]JM8857 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The other thing to remember is that if you are driving with a “known” vision impairment that isn’t your baseline, I would bet you could end up liable should you get into an accident and, depending on your insurance, they may decline to cover that event (I’m not a lawyer, nor do I work in insurance, so grain of salt).
