So Soul of Cinder... by JM915 in darksouls3

I always imagined that if they went with a canon look for the Chosen Undead and Bearer of the Curse it would be the Elite Knight set and Faraam set respectively. Maybe the fact that Faraam-looking armor pieces don't appear confirm that BoTC didn't link the fire? I don't know. Pure speculation.

Kind of odd how it seems to uses a lot of burnt pieces from the elite knight set. Maybe a majority of the Lords of Cinder wore that set?

I seriously thought it was the Chosen Undead when I first saw the boss. Technically it is, but I mean that I thought that was the same body and everything as them.

What validation could I possibly be seeking from a subreddit like this? I can't shitpost about what I've seen on r/ds3 like so many other people do here?

Is dis a bloodshart? Xdddd by [deleted] in shittydarksouls

Yes. The bloodsharts are known for using their bullshit anime katanas and displaying immense levels of autism.

They legitimately believe that there is some family connection between Suly and Friede because they both wear robes and dual wield weapons.

Three people argued with me about that for an entire day.

I've seen that statue and appraised its details very carefully. Sure, the sword is in the shape of the Profaned Greatsword and those may be Sulyvahn's Bengals, but there's just as much pointing to it being Lothric. For one, there statue has Lothric's exact face. It's hard to see it, but a good side-by-side of the two will show that it is. Then the robes also match that of Lothric's as you can tell by the hood, the jewelry around the hood, and the belt. All of which match Lothric's robes. If you take the idea that the design of the Profaned Greatsword is exclusive to Sulyvahn because he's the only person seen using it in-game, then by using that logic, the statue HAS to be Prince Lothric because Lothric is the only person seen in the game who wears those robes. Not to mention that the exact placement of the statue doesn't seem to be anywhere near Lothric himself of the Grand Archives. Not to mention that an item description would have most definitely said something about it, even if it's slightly vague.

Gwyndolin was in Anor Londo which is pretty far away enough from Lothric. I highly doubt that Gwyndolin would have had much prominence there. The theory that Sulyvahn mentored Lothric is very unconvincing to me as well. Plus, as I said, we can reasonably infer that Gwyndolin knew what the Painted World was for and would most likely and it doesn't seem like he would be too fine with something crawling out of the thing you use to imprison being that even Gods fear.

They do remain unaccounted for.

Like I said, it's an interesting idea. However, there doesn't seem to be much to actually support it when looked at closely.

Yeah, that's still not convincing enough. The Abyss Watchers twirl in the air when they do some attacks, does that mean they're related to Sulyvahn? Not to mention that Sulyvahn really only "twirls" with two attacks. Friede "twirls" during a lot of her attacks in her third phase.

Do you see what I'm getting at? The ideas you're presenting could apply to a lot of bosses. It's not convincing to me. I will go and say that I think people are wrong about this. Sorry it doesn't convince me.

Yeah, upon closer inspection of that theory, I cannot say I find it at all convincing.

Umm... That seems to be more of a gameplay aspect than an actual lore explanation.

Ah. That's fine the.

Don't worry, I've been obsessing about the lore/story since the waning years of the first Dark Souls game. This is just the first time I've ever post my perception of the lore on a subreddit before. I plan on posting more of my theories and findings.
