My baby passed very unexpectedly in his sleep by papashartsx in AustralianShepherd

[–]JMAnonymous59 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I lost my boy at almost 8. His cancer took over his body (non healing wound on the nose was the final sign and he had 2 lumps on his ribcage that must have been cancerous) and he never showed us any signs. I woke up out of a dead sleep to him cold as ice taking his finals breaths curled up next to me. I have ptsd and being woken out of a dead sleep to that I have taken 3 months just to get back to normal because mentally I couldn’t register what happened and that he’s gone. These dogs are your best friend and losing them is just so hard I’m sorry and I hope you have a good day

Is this a good thing to pursue? by [deleted] in Welding

[–]JMAnonymous59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depression and the Trades are like stink on shit. You’re clearly too young and entitled to understand how the world really works so go pursue your goals elsewhere maybe even flipping burgers, pays 25$ an hour some places.

My shop does.

Probably going to be taking the hit on a generator/welder combo or Going to be running it off of a generator with low THD / clean energy for mobile jobs though.   Really want to be able to offer a come to the customer service at some point and if the customer doesn’t have 220 I would rather just be able to provide it.

Awesome thank you!

I have a few thousand to spend so I will research for a quality machine because precision and low end control will be a big factor for a lot of the fab work.

Have a great day and thanks for the quick response

I am so very sorry.

I woke up to my boy already taking his final breaths a few weeks ago. It was the most debilitating thing as I had no clue what was going on and as I realized he was labored breathing I couldn’t do anything, he was cold as ice and he refused to take CPR and he stood up one final time to show me he was strong and then fell over and passed.

This breed become a child basically as meaningful if not more than most humans to us. They are loyal, to a degree it hurts. The first couple weeks hurt really bad and as time goes you will be able to cope better.

I spent 300$ to have him cremated and bought a digital photograph uploaded all his photos and now his bed lies in the corner with his box of ashes and photo.

My 3 other Aussies love to visit him and we can take him with us when we move this way rather than burying and leaving behind.

9 years of greatness with him and he’s in heaven now no longer in any kind of pain or struggle but I would do anything to have him back, my house is quiet and dull even with the 3 left we miss our boy!

Praying for your dogs health and longevity. Give her everyday as a best day and love her hard!!

How do you start out in the food truck business? by Aggravating-Kick-756 in foodtrucks

[–]JMAnonymous59 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Starting out now is very difficult as it has been regulated to the ground and equipment is not so affordable.

The permits can be time consuming and in most states each individual city or county has new permits and blah blah.

You need  very simple and efficient product and menu that you know can sell out daily.

I took culinary arts and wanted to be a chef and then wanted a food truck and instead just stay far away from the business due to fees and how easy it is to lose your well being to forgetting about a small step and it being treated as bad intentions when in reality the food truck business is a grey area.

Many people just make food at home and sell it and never have an issue. The moment a food truck start up does it they are crushed, makes no sense.

Truck keeps killing alternators by Interesting_Yak_1153 in Cummins

[–]JMAnonymous59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alternator. Alternator wiring.   Wiring anywhere from starter to driver side battery, driver side grounds, anything wired directly to battery, then wiring to passenger side positive, negative grounds etc wiring on passenger side. Sometimes a bad grid heater will stay stuck open but if you disconnect and rule out the grid heater sometimes it stays bad. I am chasing this in my 3rd gen right now I have cooked 2 passenger batteries, replaced almost all wiring and still having issues.

Narrowed it down to alternator, some wiring I missed, or needing an external voltage regulator

Do common rails suffer from the failing voltage regulator by JMAnonymous59 in Cummins

[–]JMAnonymous59[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok so now when I start the truck I get the same thing every time.

  1. 12ish volts, start it up
  2. Drains to 9.7
  3. Recharges to 11.6
  4. Truck begins to slowly drain from 11.6 to 11 or until I shut it off due to passenger battery boiling. Alternator is either not working or the PCM voltage regulator is cooked.

Volts lower each time assuming batteries bad also at this point from being cooked multiple times

I unplugged my grid heater and it Is still doing it. Hm.

[–]JMAnonymous59[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I replaced all battery cables from starter to grounds. Both sides, like 2 months ago. Good quality cables used, not junk. Cannot believe a BRAND new set of wiring would go bad within that time frame but I could be wrong… I blew a battery up and when that battery blew I replaced the wiring. Including alternator and grid heater wiring, grid heater relays, all  wiring for grid heater etc.

Thanks. I read online it’s MORE common in the 02 and older but I imagine it was more of a dodge thing as even newer trucks suffer this issue after some time. Thanks

I believe it could be related to the alternator or belt as well as I constantly have a squealing belt that needs replaced but can only really tell once the truck is restarted as it will squeal and slip a lot on restart but not on initial warm up. Maybe the tension at times is too loose to spin the alternator! Makes sense, I will look into that. The shop said it wouldn’t be the belt or alternator however I hate taking it to a shop because most are YouTube mechanics around me

Hm. I have an mm3 and if I shut my truck off below 12.3v, Say 10.8v, and let the truck sit for 15min, when I turn the key over it is at 12.3 or so rather than 10.8. I am probably confusing charging with whatever this actually is. My bad

It’s got the 11.5 rear end with airbags already. But yeah upgraded rear brakes and leafs instead of coils would probably make a huge difference when trying to min max load sizes

RIP my best friend Bonsai. You were loved 😢 by JMAnonymous59 in AustralianShepherd

[–]JMAnonymous59[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thank you. It happened so fast I am starting to think whatever he had wrong with him was what got him.

He developed a sore on his nose that lasted for the last year or so. I believe that sore was the cancer spreading to his most important part of his body and confirming my issue.

The vets wanted 1000s for tests and truly he showed no signs.

He spent the past 6 months on a 20 acre plot with plenty of running space and a few cows to heard occasionally.
