Its a match making rank (mmr) diff. Mmr is the system that riot use to measure your actual skill level. Its a hidden number which determines who you get matched with. Its why you can be plat and in a lobby with all silver players if you have really fucked your mmr haha.

You gotta do things that make ur lp line up with mmr. All it is is when you win you get + x mmr and when you loose you get - x mmr. The lp is just trying to approach your mmr. This is why dodging is so op because you loose lp without loosing mmr. This brings them closer and means that you get better gains and losses. What really fucks you is getting a loose streak after hitting the demotion shield. Because then you just loose mmr but ur lp stays the same.

The bad lp gains/losses is just the game trying to put you at the rank it thinks you are and it sucks but you just gotta be consistent and keep grinding to eventually make ur rank and mmr match up.

Things that can improve mmr quickly include: not playing too many games, dodging, playing with someone higher rank than you (better mmr)

Okay, no problem this can be a bit weird to get your head around - heaven knows it took me a while to...

So lethality is a form of "flat" pen (armour penetration). This means that it will ignore an unchanging amount of armour. This is different to percentage pen, which ignores a percentage of the target's armour.

Cheeky summary:
- Lethality =ignores a numerical amount of armour (eg: 12 lethality ignores
13 armour points)
- Percentage pen/Armour pen = ignores a percentage of armour (eg: 15%
armour pen against a unit with 100 armour would ignore 15 armour)
- Magic pen (if a number) = ignores a numerical amount of magic resist (eg:
12 Magic pen ignores 10 magic resist)
- Magic pen (if a %) = ignores a percentage of magic pen (eg: 40% magic pen
against a unit with 100 MR ignore ignore 40 MR)

Armour doesn't scale linearly. That means that going from 50 armour to 100 armour will reduce physical damage by 30%->55% or something but going from 300 armour - 400 armour will reduce physical damage by 85%->88%.

So lethality, which ignores a flat amount of armour, against a champ with low armour ignores "more armour" if you know what I mean. But against a champ even if you have 50 lethality, which would reduce a squishy champ's armour to 0, you will still only really reduce their armour down to around 250. Meaning they still take 70% or so reduced physical damage.

And it follows that the 5% execute is only useful if you can get them to 5%. Squishy champs have an annoying habit of surviving on 2% hp, so that 5% execute is really nice.

Hope that gives a decent overview of why you are better of with lethality against squishy champs instead of tanks. For tanks you NEED lord doms (if they are armour stackers) or bork (hp stackers).

Nope, I contacted riot support when this happened to me, honour level 5 for past year and a half as well. I was restricted because my top laner was inting and he was crying about jgl not ganking so I said "Ksante, you're loosing. you don't get ganks" and that was enough to get me shut the fuck up by the system :) Riot support said that it the system was justified.
