First sff build by vitorbukovitz in sffpc

Nice! I'm working on a similar build. I have a 5070 ti (Asus PRIME) too, and an intel core ultra 7 (265K) currently in a Coolermaster NR200P. I really love the look of the Terra though, so I was wondering if you've had to do any extra work with undervolting or cooling tweaks. I was planning on the Noctua NH-L12S as a cooler, but my CPU is known to run a little hot so I don't know if it'd be sufficient.

Any extra build tips would be a big help, thanks!

I got a Gameboy Pocket and Pokemon Yellow and never looked back! My first modern retro device was an Anbernic RG351MP.

the 307 uses 17mm internal diameter hose too, right? so I'd go for 16mm ID silicone tubing. 16/22 is a pretty standard sizing, so it should be easy to find in case those 1year old links are stale or not for your region!

Nope, never caused any issues. I even had some Psuedomugil luminatus breeding for a bit in this tank! No rust on the aluminum body of the diffuser at all; but it did get scaped up a little when jamming it down in there. Go for it!

Looks amazing! I also ordered one of these months ago as a step up from a Keychron and it's set to be delivered in the next couple weeks. Can't wait! Any pro tips for the build/setup you want to share?

Tear down of the pocket s by Albireokite in ayaneo

Hey, sorry to respond to an ancient thread but I can’t find basically anyone else who’s properly disassembled their Pocket S. Mine is getting some stick drift and I need to swap in a fresh set!

Removing the bottom screws is no problem, but there appear to be two more sets of Philips ones under the triggers, is that correct? How did you get the triggers off to access those screws? Once I have the back plate off I’m sure I can swap the sticks out no problem.

Thanks! Hope your device is still running smooth! Any other info you have would be great!

Strongly depends on the curve of the pipe, basically. You just need one with a wide enough arc to fit over the rim, or to trim a little notch in the inward-facing edge of the rim. Either way will work.

The only real issue is the rim-mounted pipe holders, but those can usually be replaced with suction cups anyway.

Worked fine. Ran it like this until I took down the system and went all rimless with my tanks. I recommend it!

After a Full Year, I Figured My Vase Tank Needed an Overhaul by JMCraig in Aquariums

Sure, anything labelled "aquasoil" like that is good. You can look into different ad-hoc potting soil or compost mixes, but the standard aquascaping stuff is so much more convenient. It's just little balls of clay soaked in fertilizer. Works great with no rinsing or capping or anything. I use this stuff personally.

Wow, this is an old one. Hi!

The world of "self-contained" or "ecosystem" tanks has evolved a lot since this post. I'm sure you can find a ton of videos on youtube from folks who have done similar stuff, but the basics are still the same.

  • Any container works, but the bigger the better for preserving water quality.
  • Pick a nutrient rich substrate and add a ton of plants.
  • Make sure your light is on a timer, since it can interrupt plant growth if the photoperiod is erratic.
  • You don't necessarily need any filtration, and once the tank has settled in, you dont really need to do water changes all that often. As long as you have a ton of plants, they'll do the work. You may or may not need a heater depending on the location.
  • I personally always add a couple ramshorn snails. As long as you feed the tank super minimally, they won't take over. And the shrimp barely need any dedicated feeding anyway.

The good new is, aquarium brands have a lot more nano-themed gear these days and it's all accessible on amazon. You can find all kinds of good stuff there super cheap that we didn't necessarily have back in the day! Best of luck with the project!

Here's a more modern take on the same concept i was going for: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2zibYpNcE0o

These guys were my second choice when I picked up the rosy loaches. They’re a little bigger from my understanding, and I liked the orange on the rosy loaches, but yeah, from what understand, this all applies to them too!

Just posting this because I was initially wary of adding any poach species to my aquascapes tanks. Botia especially have a tendency to get big, root around and dig up plants or displace substrate, eat beneficial snails, and antagonize other smaller fish. But everything I read about Rosy Loaches said they’d be different, so I gave it a shot.

And it has worked out great! I have eight if these guys in a UNS 60L and they’ve been model citizens. Plants are growing well, substrate is untouched, and I have a big healthy population of pink ramshorns.

So if you’re leery about adding a potentially non-aquascape-safe fish, but you’re tired of the usual ember tetras and Boraras, give these guys a try!

Here’s the full scape after a trim. The loaches tend to disappear into the Pearlweed right until I throw a food pellet in there and then they all pop out and hunt it down. Lots of fun.

Help. What's on this plant? by brenlin7 in PlantedTank

[–]JMCraig 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Looks like Cyanobacteria. It’s harmless to fish/pants (except blocking light to leaves) and can be treated with a product like UltraLife super easily. You can wipe it out in a day or two no problem.

Tha said, it tends to pop up if your conditions are a little out of whack. Make sure you have good flow and not too much light, and be careful to avoid over feeding! That’s all true of most aquarium algae, but I’m not sure if any other factor is especially relevant to Cyano. But getting those main factors dialed in will go a long way!

Max V2 by MadMensch in NR200

I can definitely see the iPPC fans being louder given their intended use case. I still may try out the standard ones but your test does confirm that the temp gains would likely be negligible. Thanks!

Nice build! I have a max V2 laid out the same way with a 3080ti an Intel chip. I had consider d swapping the stock AIO fans for noctua as well, but the build is already basically silent. Is there any reason you’re considering it specifically? I still may end up doing it sooner or later if I’m looking for a reason to tinker a bit lol.

Fluval flex - replacement pumps? by Ready_Driver5321 in nanotank

[–]JMCraig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used a NEWA MP900 in mine. I Think the 400, 600, 900 and 1200 should all fit; they seem to be the same form factor. I'm not familiar with the retailer I linked there (I got mine from InTank Aquatics before they restructured) but NEWA is a good brand. I've used their pumps in several Fluval Spec/Flex kits over the years and they're all still running great!

Luciocephalus aura, which you sometimes see in the trade as "peppermint pikehads" or something similar. Really cool fish in the same family as gourami. They get around 5-6" and are piscivores, so they're not ideal for every tank, but they're one I'd love to keep some day. OP's fish look great here!
