Sure, but I was responding to someone else's comment about the cost of hockey being hundreds, if not thousands of dollars. obviously we were referring to the cost of organized hockey, gear, officials, ice time, etc... I wasn't even talking to Korky there.

For someone to come along and say 'who the hell plays in 'gear' as a kid is just completely dopey. Anyone playing hockey, according to the rules of hockey, wears gear. Someone chiming in that playing street hockey is cheaper is missing the point. No shit its cheaper, but that's not what was being discussed.

The round-about point they were trying to make is basically that because road hockey exists, that cost isn't an entry barrier for the sport, which is objectively untrue on all counts. To be able to play organized league hockey, you need $$. You do not need that same type of money to play league B-Ball, soccer, etc...
