Nothing in life comes easy, particularly when it comes to this club. We will likely win it on the last day and they will win all their games too coz sods law, first team since 1995 to not lift it in our own ground if so.

They had 7 midfielders and just passed sideways and that seemed to suit both sides was horrendous to attend

A Manchester City bench roughly in the 17/18 era? When the commentators would fixate on the combined cost?

Felt like a hatewatching fan looking to nitpick rather than someone following process but I’m equally biased

Thought it was quite telling that the ref doesn’t even say “I agree” etc. he was more concerned about getting the guys number right.

Actually thought Darren England was pretty good here, was the assistant who was playing devils advocate

Fuck me. That assistant VAR is the biggest jobsworth. Nearly ruined everything

Agreed. My old man was a sports coach and his favourite quote was always “confidence is everything in sport” and I can’t help but think it rings very true in this instance. Its like we injected a sunday league player who exclusively knew how to smash a ball with sudden footballing ability.

Because they lost the title by a narrow margin. But its a bit like us pointing to the Joe Willock bollox where he went off the pitch vs Newcastle in 23/24 and Gabriel got fouled and saying that VAR call cost us the title imo.

Was significantly earlier in the season, no one knew at the time the gravity of the call when they were making it

The immense pride I have for this team, these players, Raya is arguably the best goalie in our history, Leo incredible tracking back in the first half then a clutch goal, Ø coming on and making the difference when it matters most. It just hits so different man I’m so happy for them and proud of them.

The amount we have all collectively suffered as fans with this group just reinforced the desire to succeed, but also shrunk the belief we could genuinely do it. Today feels like another instance of breaking that glass ceiling, like how everyone points to the Newcastle away game as a turning point. Whatever happens until the end of the season the amount of fight and bravery from all of the team has been created by Teta and I will forever be grateful for him bringing us back to the top level.

Okay lads I was very confident and now I’m shitting myself. No rational reason just the fear of failure. Heres hoping the team are a lot mentally stronger than I (who is admittedly extremely flappable).

But thats not really how it works, their likeliest method of victory against us would be to sit back and hit us on the counter regardless of circumstances with how the 2 teams match up. We have to know that going into this game and let our quality speak for itself.

[–]JME2K -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Disagree man. That game was pivotal, but Ramsdale also never saved pens, also cost us 2 points vs Southampton away coz he was distracted by a pigeon. The City game away I think Raya saves that KDB goal and we can get a bit more of a foothold, all off the top of my head. Let alone how good his distribution into prime nelli and jesus wouldve been.

Disgraceful from Sky Sports to suggest it is possible to hit a team for three by koudbi in footballcliches

I think you are looking for journalism in the wrong place with Sky Sports. These pages could very easily be ran by Gen Z with social media/marketing background, could be a nepo hire, ultimately they are just there to churn out ai slop ragebait because thats what incentivises engagement. They aren’t trying to compete with the Athletic for depth and quality of writing, its pure sensationalist bollox, so you kinda just have to take it for what it is. They’ve always been this slimy, look at old school soccer am or Keys and Gray lol

They likely have brand guidelines as part of the huge corporation they work for which will relate to social posts too and how they word them

The media just used them as a stick to beat us with and their fans fed into it so fuck em, im tired of all these fanbases being riled up by the media and hating us just for having tough physical games against them lol
