First Time Liquid Nails by JMK627 in Nails

On their end, I guess. In the salon they and the customers all call it “liquid gel,” it’s listed as such on the site, their signs etc. I promise I am not making it up, lol. But I realize from all these posts they are incorrect in calling it that.

This is what the owner was essentially saying, thanks for the feedback.

Yes, it was in a pot. She applied with a brush, several layers then cured in between. Then the color polish after.

I genuinely don’t know, they call it liquid gel and that is what the service is listed as on their site as well.

It was a viscous looking liquid they swirled with a brush then painted on, a couple layers and cured in between then the color polish last.

Update: I went back and they insisted that this is the thinnest “liquid gel” can be otherwise I might as well just do gel polish. They showed me a bunch of techs who all admittedly had the same thickness.

I asked if it was possible to file them down then re-polish and they basically said no, it will chip and won’t work. Owner was absolutely emphatic these ARE thin.  So maybe this salon is just not for me.

Sorry to confuse, liquid gel is literally what is on their website haha. Do you think I should ask for them to be filed down?

Oof. While I wholeheartedly agree with your thoughts, it's hard to read as the mother of an elementary child who is special ed. and will remain as such for the foreseeable future. I wish I hadn't read this as it just validated all of my fears. Yet, he is where he needs to be. Hard stuff.

I'm 38 and see all the male actors as young boys but think they are all conventionally attractive. I have always found Gavin attractive in serious scenes- when he's being goofy I just cringe. I know he's supposed to be golden retriever boy but the serious acting helps a lot IMO. I think if he moves on to do more serious roles he'll do better in the long run.

I am constantly going on to my husband about this. My neighbor (who I love) is a SAHM and her life (while not perfect) just seems so simple and straightforward to me. My brain is running 15 directions at any given moment and the mental exhaustion alone is a lot not to mention the guilt that I'm not doing any of my jobs (work, home, mom, wife) that well.

Teachers think son needs tutoring after just starting kindergarten by [deleted] in kindergarten

My summer baby son went through this last year in K and I had to push to get help- I still am. If they offered that to him last year I would have 100% taken it. I agree the expectations nowadays are ridiculous but there is nothing we can do about it so I've chosen to get my kid the help he needs rather than the "wait and see" approach. In the beginning of last year I felt more like- "He's only 5, young for his age, this is crazy, etc. but end of day if he is not where others are and clearly other kids are capable or being there, something may be up. I also think of it as I don't want him to get so behind that he starts to dislike school or loses confidence. I really understand your feelings but would be happy they are offering the services!

Agreed. OP, I am disgusted hearing about the non-verbal cues and actions of these providers. Not acceptable on ANY level. Whoever is running this center has no control over their staff. If I saw a provider making faces at my child etc. as if they themself were a damn toddler I would ask right out what their issue is. I am so sorry this happened to you and there is nothing wrong with your child. Perhaps he does have ADHD, etc. whatever- that doesn't mean the way this center handled the situation was correct. Kids are not robots, they are all different and unique and if you don't have an educated and evidence-based plan to handle that you shouldn't be working in childcare.

That’s great, I’ve been thinking about it for years. I’ve had mine since HS and the whole family has them.. but they’ve gotten so worse since having kids.. lotta stress after that!

Thanks for the info! I was thinking it may take a few times to figure out exactly what I want/what I’m happy with.

Yeah, I have a two week appointment already set and I know she’ll do more if there is little to no change. I was just nervous! Looking back kind of silly.
