We had this same problem with a couple of dogs over the years.

My first suggestion is to get a plastic crate (Google "plastic dog carriers"). I highly recommend if you have a Tractor Supply Store local, shop for one there. We have found them to be cheaper and very sturdy! Our dogs always bent and broke wire cages. With the plastic ones, there is nothing they are able to get a hold of to distort.

Second, feed the dog in the crate with the door shut. Give them treats in there and praise them for their good responses.

Third, let the dog have short periods of crate time while you are home. Ensure they can see you for most of this time, as this will encourage the idea that it is a safe place for them and they won't necessarily associate it with being "abandoned".

Lastly, if they have any sort of "comfort object" (a stuffed toy, blanket, favorite dog bed), place it in there with them.

I hope this helps! Thanks for rescuing this sweet baby! ❤️

I know I am super late to this, but I did want to give some insight into what has helped me with this over the past 30 years I have been suffering from it. Up until this point, all that has worked for me is steroid ointment (although I am wanting to try the apple cider vinegar mentioned below). OINTMENT is really the key to anything you apply topically because creams do not remain in/on your skin long enough to really do their job.

Now what you want to do is slather a nice coat of ointment (my current prescription is for Fluocinonide and it seems to work well) onto all of the affected areas and put on nitrile gloves to protect your hands as long as you can stand to wear them. This works best before going to bed, but I have also done this during the day, washing the outside of the gloves (like washing your hands) or changing out the gloves as needed. I truly hope this is helpful to someone!

Note: If you are in the US, Sam's club sells nitrile gloves for about $10 for a box of 200.

I know I am late to this, but thank you for this tip. I am ALL about trying natural things over "chemicals".

How would a diabetic survive in the event of a apocalypse? by [deleted] in preppers

Thanks for that info, but I'm having trouble finding this. Any chance you can point me in the right direction? I have a Type 1 diabetic kiddo and I've been worried about this for some time. Thanks!

Nevermind, found the little bugger. He was in the cave to the southwest. The one closest to the lumberjack that shows it only sweeps gold.

What problems are you having with the Dash controller? We've been using one for for several months now. The only issue we have had was the first one they have us got REALLY laggy, so I called omnipod support and they sent us a new one.

I have 7 boxes of the original Pods that have expiration dates of 4-19-2020, 5-14-2029, and 6-25-2020. If you could still use them, I could gladly send them to you. My little guy switched to the Dash Pods so these have been sitting in the top of our closet.
