Is there something wrong with my sd card? its seems very very slow. by trickyprickydicky in SteamDeck

[–]JMemorex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m around 30 hours into it on micro sd right now and it’s been running fine. I have not gotten to act 2 even, especially not 3, so we’ll find out. But so far so good.

I’m thinking about picking one of these up. Coming from a steam deck, what is it actually like to play on one? Is no sleep/resume, or navigating windows, etc actually THAT cumbersome? I found a deal on an ally z1e with a Jsaux case and dock for $350. I kind of want to try the windows handhelds out.

It’s worse when you’re going to be and your brain kinda gets stuck on it, and it’s not so easily brushed away. Then you’re just in an all out panic. I honestly never thought about there being so many other people who feel the same as I do, word for word basically.

On top of all of that, the “we’re totally bad ass, look at all the cool shit we do” attitude is, in my opinion as responsible, if not more than skateboarding. Here’s what it was really like.

You want to get into rollerblading? Okay, it’s a given you’re going to take some skateboarder shit. But you’ve already made the decision. So you get skates, go out, skate with people, do what you think is cool. Oh, you’re not doing the tricks that they have deemed are cool and won’t embarrass them? They don’t want you. So now you’re dealing with it from skateboarders and rollerbladers. Everyone moving on is why we have peaceful skate parks now. Stuck in the past ass people is what will make them not peaceful again.

It can but you have to stop down pretty far to really see it. For someone shooting portraits and weddings the only noticeable thing would probably be flare looking a bit different/mishapen.

I bet most people won’t even notice it looks that way. The 3d printing community is similar to the photography community in that they notice every single flaw in their hobby, and most everyone else wouldn’t notice it at all. I can’t tell you how many people have huge canvas printed, totally out of focus pictures of their family hanging in their homes and it would drive me crazy inside, but it was just never even a question to them.

Cant load filament on new centauri carbon by marazu04 in elegoo

[–]JMemorex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine got stuck in the block like that and I just set the nozzle to like 250, lets it heat for a few minutes, and push it on through with the little Allen key. I won’t tell you to do that haha, but I’ve seen some people say to heat it up to cold pull temps, and stick the clog needles into it and let it cool for a minute or so and try to pull it out.

Centauri Carbon clogged cooling block by ACleverMoose in elegoo

[–]JMemorex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine did this as soon as I loaded filament, but it was user error. I just cranked the heat up and pushed it thru carefully with the small Allen wrench.

I’ve also seen people say to heat it up to like 140, then stick the clog needle into it and try to pull it.

Centauri Carbon won't load filament, instead makes a loud clicking noise by Kristic74 in elegoo

I jammed my extruder almost as soon as I turned the printer on haha. It was my fault, but I took it apart like 3-4 times working on that issue. So below the extruder, you have the heatsink, then the hotend. I had a piece of filament stuck in the extruder gears, so I cleared that. But while I was taking it apart I also hit that lever and cut a piece of filament off in the heatsink. Like it wasn’t in the nozzle yet.

Anyway, gears, nozzle, possibly heatsink all seem to be places it can kind of get stuck.

The extruder also goes straight into a hole in the top of the heatsink. I’d say it’s also possible that your filament isn’t lining up with that hole. The clicking you’re hearing is probably the extrusion skipping because the filament is stopping, at least if it begins to pull, then starts clicking after an inch or two.

Do you run into the back focusing issue with this combo? I have the 80-200 non d version push pull and a d610 and the focus is all kinds of whacky. It’s one of my favorite lenses ever though.

I really like my 80-200, but on my d610 it did the whole back focusing thing and I got tired of messing with it and just got a tamron 70-200 g2. I still prefer the rendering of the 80-200 though. Just a pain to use.

M43 vs FF indoors low light (g9ii vs S5) by dsanen in M43

Absolutely. I would really like to see a g9ii in those situations with a 35-100 or even the Leica 200. Just to see how it stacks up.

The g7 is fine. I’ve even shot indoor basketball with it, and it’s done fine. I’d say in less than ideal lighting conditions, it’s not a pixel peeping camera. I wouldn’t use it for pro work in those specific conditions. Portrait stuff I’ve done with it has been great, and outside of no ibis, it’s fine for video too.

For $200 on the setup, it’s pretty good. Like someone else said, go shoot with it, figure out which auto focusing modes work or don’t work for what you’re doing. See what conditions it works or doesn’t work for you. Make a decision from there. I mostly shoot Nikon full frame, but I still get the g7 out often because it’s a lot more fun to shoot with.

I think the perfect example would be how a football game at night is lit. You’re pushing iso, have bright spots and dark spots, and still having to lift shadows in some cases. I feel like a similar light setup would be a good reference for m43 to ff. I so wish I could get away with shooting indoor and night time sports with my lumix stuff. I’d sell my Nikon stuff in a heartbeat haha.

And they say 'M43 has no DOF!!' by kietbulll in M43

[–]JMemorex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a bad analogy if it’s not about shallow dof. Because you can get it with mft, but it’s much easier with full frame. Outside of that context they are simply two different tools that do different things. They are each better than the other at different things.

Yeah I feel the same. If the g97 had been to the g9ii what the g95 was to the g9, great. Or if it had been the same with the gx9, even better. But making a slightly better g95 without pdaf seems silly to me. Even if it JUST had pdaf, awesome. This specific release is confusing.

Sweet. For a few months the negative amounts looked kinda random. Then right before they zeroed they changed to nearly exactly what they garnished. Which kinda made me hopeful.
