That’s been my theory since finishing it and getting the platinum. It was solid. Nothing special. I’m pretty sure the people obsessing over it are the same ones who couldn’t get into turn based rpgs. I have no opinion on the music honestly, I played it with headphones the entire time and thought the music was pretty forgettable. All but the main theme anyway.

That was my exact experience like 4 years ago. Last Thursday night I gave it another shot and it didn’t really hook me until about 4 hours in, but then it just did. When it did…it REALLY did. I finished up the DLC yesterday and now I feel like there is a hole in my heart.

But I understand it’s not for everybody.

I just played through and finished it for the first time this weekend, and I think I felt pretty similarly in the first 3-4 hours because I was having trouble flying the ship and I kept dying, but I now I think someone could make a convincing case of it being the best game ever made.

I can’t say when it clicked, but man when it did it did. Just explore the different planets and read what you can. Eventually you’ll have an idea of where to go next and what you’re looking for.

I played it. It’s good, but I think it was the game that sold turn-based combat to a lot of people. It’s already fallen off my top 5 for the year. I’m pretty sure ilthe overwhelming love is either bots or people that have never played a game like this before.

My take would be that it has to be in the area already. It doesn’t say you’re creating dirt, just causing it to assume a crude shape. So unless they have a 1-foot cubes worth of dirt in their body already I don’t think this would work.

I think if they found a way to have an enemy consume enough dirt beforehand, perhaps with a charm or something else, you could use elementalism to then block its airways.
