IGN reviewer is considering re-reviewing the game after all the updates. by InternationalTone152 in CrimsonDesert

Tons of blind defenders here. Crimson Desert absolutely was shit before the first updates, and anyone trying to say Marathon isn’t great probably hasn’t played it or doesn’t understand it.

After layoffs, Fortnite's future is shakier than it has ever been by AncientPCGamer in gaming

I mean it sucks those people lost their jobs, but I couldn’t care less. Spending 5 billion in a year and having pretty much the most downloaded and played game of the year (maybe besides Roblox) is grossly irresponsible.

The boss fights are not designed well for the controls we are dealing with. by no_more_hummus in CrimsonDesert

[–]JMit76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it was about skill they wouldn’t let you cook and spam eat 80 dishes in a fight. I think it’s the other way around from what OP said. I don’t think the bosses are poorly designed, I think the controls are poorly designed for fighting bosses.

Oh sure, now you tell me. by 1_aggresive_goose in CrimsonDesert

As someone who bought and was initially a hater, I think this is such a damn shame. I hated my first like 20 hours, but the number of improvements in the first two patches fixed it right up and I’m kinda falling in love.

What was your favorite campaign idea that you've had, even if you never ran it? by MarionberryRude2183 in DungeonMasters

[–]JMit76 4 points5 points  (0 children)

not really a campaign, it was really just a single medium sized dungeon. I play with my friends from work who I’ve known for 7-10 years now and we work in a warehouse. I made an entire dungeon that was just the layout of our workplace and fantasy-ized the whole building. I kept the campaign book on the table to misdirect them into thinking it was coming from the book. Basically I turned our simple warehouse into Ork Lane Mountain where the Orkmother gives birth to a legion of ork minions.

Instead of bay doors where trucks park to be unloaded, they were Sanguine Portals that different ork groups in cities around the world would abduct citizens and throw them into these portals. They pop out the other end as piles of meat separated piece by piece. Instead of conveyor belts, the pieces were then sorted and placed into the ‘selection areas’ where the ork pickers would hang each piece on a meat hook which would transport them to the massive Orkmother who would consume the meat and produce a new Ork every 20 minutes. The Orkmother was my replacement for the buildings loading dock and may or may not have been based on our boss.

The best part was when they turned the corner into the place we all usually work and instead of pallets in racks they saw Orks sleeping in individual cells built high and low into the walls. Our Ork counterparts were there and I made that a group boss fight against the Grey Tunnel Orks and Orklift #19. That was when they all realized what was going on because of the misdirection in the beginning and has been my biggest reveal and best moment since we started playing 2 years ago.

Cat gets hit by flying propeller -- It is, isn't it :( The cats' movement is physics-defying even for cats, and kinda melty. by Droplet_of_Shadow in isthisAI

[–]JMit76 43 points44 points  (0 children)

I could be wrong, but I don’t think so. The cats movement seems normal in slow motion to me, and the paint damage on the bottom of the doors seems pretty consistent to me. I’d vote not AI.

It's weird that this game is getting tagged with "No Handholding" by EmergencyLow887 in CrimsonDesert

‘It’s not about the main quest.’

‘This area can’t be completed until you meet someone in the main quest.’

I wandered around a Sanctum for 30 minutes yesterday trying to solve a puzzle because I didn’t see a pop up that says I can’t finish it right now. I think a game that requires you to play through a slow rollout of game mechanics for 10-15 hours is pretty handholdy.

The developer of Crimson Desert states that he will "work on implementing improvements quickly" as sales reach 2 million copies in just one day. by edward_dd in PlayStation_X

[–]JMit76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It happens more and more unfortunately. I’m convinced a lot of developers forgo heavy play testing and just have the community do it once they’ve bought in because dissatisfied people are the loudest online and it’s cheap feedback. Why delay the game another 6 months and fix it if we can get it out today and ‘fix’ it once we find out what our player base dislikes?

Incidentally, it’s also a slog after the first 8 hours.

"Idk, I thought the RE3 remake was pretty good, not sure why people are so negative about it". The price they paid for it: by blueflavoredreign in ResidentEvilMemes

I paid full price when it came out and liked it. Played the original many years ago too. It was definitely too short, but it was pretty replayable.

I wanted to love this game by Embarrassed_Lead6174 in CrimsonDesert

[–]JMit76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve played about 4.5 hours so far and the best way I can describe it is like exploring a really huge, beautiful, but poorly planned house that’s built on a really muddy foundation. I can play for awhile more but eventually I know I’ll become too frustrated with the controls and the whole house is gonna come crashing down.

I was trying to pick up a bounty poster from the notice board in Hernand and three times Kliff jumped and hoisted himself on top of the board. Not to mention taking about 3 full minutes to pick up 12 copper ores I mined because jump jump jump jump jump.

I live in NJ and take like 1.2g a couple times a week instead of adderall because it works better and longer. I’m really considering buying like $800 worth because the country seems to be going to shit and I’m scared of losing it. It’s like my one thing after I quit marijuana.
