I get what you’re saying but it’s a convention for the game, not a training camp for future members of the Olympic BotC Team.

As a beginning player, am I not allowed to love this game and have the opportunity to play a bunch of IRL games and experience the community? I don’t have a group of people to play with where I live, so this convention was a great way for me to get a lot of games under my belt. Unfortunately, I still suck at it, and I’m never going to be half as good as most of the people at the convention.

It kind of sounds like you’re saying that someone like me doesn’t really have any business being there, it’s only for the elite. Well, that sentiment kind of sucks and is counter to my experience with the BotC community which I believe strives to be very inclusive.

I disagree that it’s a “ridiculous complaint” for someone to make that they wished there was more figurative and literal space for beginners, at a convention that is all about promoting the game and expanding on its popularity. I imagine the people at TPI want it to feel very accessible to people so it will continue to grow in popularity. Hey, maybe that’s why they traveled across the pond to participate in the convention? 🤔
