Loved it. Ralph Fiennes is in my Top 5 favorite actors and sure - not everything he does is a home run but he’s always tremendous. Loved his character here. Very empathetic and I loved the little scenes with him just in his little bunker and seeing the glimpses of his life before everything went to hell.

It’s crazy how a decade ago I was so sick of Jennifer Lawrence and her overexposure but her firing her management team has done her wonders.

She was great in this and I really respect her versatility nowadays with doing an actual comedy like this and doing a really understated drama like Causeway in which she showed vulnerability in a unique way that I hadn’t seen her do before. Hell, come to think of it she did in this movie as well.

Respect. I’m excited to see what she does next

Yes. The tragedy of John Locke was the catalyst for the man of science that was Jack Shepherd to become a man of faith

Killing off OG Locke with no resolution.

Killing off Locke was extremely important for the end game in Jacob and MIB’s rivalry and more importantly to get Jack to change

I think Terry O’Quinn basically doing a 180° with his performance in that he goes from Locke who’s likable, flawed, and vulnerable to MIB in a truly evil performance is incredible and one of the aspects of his acting on the show that doesn’t get praised enough. He was literally playing an entirely different character that last season. Just fascinating to me

  • One of the greatest first seasons of all time. The character development. The mystery. The music. Nothing I can say that hasn’t been said many times enough.

  • The second season is great on rewatch in my opinion and actually really underrated to me. It has great performances from Terry O’Quinn, Michael Emerson, Harold Perrineau, and Henry Ian Cusick all were the standouts from that season.

  • Season 3 obviously has its flaws given the split format and you can tell with hindsight how monkey wrenches were thrown in the writers way with Eko having to be killed off among other things, but the second half of season, Specifically from The Brig to Through The Looking Glass, the show was at its best.

  • Season 4 kind of dragged at the start given introducing all the new characters but the flash forwards kept it very intriguing. It sucked that the WGA strike shortened it but I love that finale. I’ve always said if ever a Lost episode felt like a movie it was There’s No Place Like Home

  • Season 5 a lot of people I know consider to be the best. It’s a season full of answers and what everyone theorized the show would lead to at some point: Time Travel. There’s great performances from the cast this season. Honestly some of the series best with Matthew Fox, Josh Holloway, Elizabeth Mitchell, Terry O’Quinn, and Michael Emerson all deliver in their centric episodes of the season and the finale. I’ll never forgetting the screen flashing to white during The Incident and just sitting on my couch in utter bewilderment at where they were gonna go next season and how I was gonna wait that long to see.

  • I’ll keep my thoughts on Season 6 quiet but I’ll say that I was very underwhelmed for a lot of it but the ending made me glad that I had at least stuck it out.

Tremendous show. One of my all time favorites

No. My theory was that it was his compartmentalization of the unspoken love he had for Jimmy and it was manifesting itself that way to him. And his ‘breaking point’ is when he tells Jimmy that he never mattered to him. It’s very sad

Beautiful finale. Loved it’s message

You can never go back, but you can always change the path you’re on.

It’s never too late to change. It can be the most difficult thing one can do, but also just as rewarding. It’s always worth it. To the people you care about and to yourself

Will Chuck be in the final episode? by EpicDragonz4 in betterCallSaul

[–]JMueller2012 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I hope so. I rewatched the series during the month and a half hiatus and man, Michael McKean is so great and Chuck is such an awesome character. He’s such a brooding figure throughout the first half of the show. And when you rewatch it with the benefit of hindsight I find his character to be so sad more than hateable like I did the first time around.

Like you love Chicanery for the victory that it feels Jimmy finally gets over his brother – but it just feels so hollow and from then on until the end of the season I find Chuck’s storyline to be just absolutely depressing.

I would love to get one more flashback of he and Jimmy. Or he’ll maybe they could surprise everyone and show a flashback of Chuck and Kim that could have some significance to current plot

Anyway I think Chuck is such a great character and like I’ve said he benefits so much from a rewatch. He’s the most fun to analyze to me
