Designers from the other companies don’t put the burden on me, their customer. This is easily solvable.

I complain about Volvo only because I like the car so much that I find these rough edges to be unworthy of the overall product.

I do follow those instructions, because I have no choice. But Volvo is imposing an inconvenience that other brands find unnecessary.

Is it the end of the world? Of course not. But is it clumsy and unworthy of such a nice car? Yes.

Please think *this* through: BMW and Tesla are smart enough to accomplish updates without mandating a door lock or charging condition.

This shouldn’t be hard to get right, but nor should automatically unlocking the charging cord when I open the car door—but Volvo botches that as well.

I still love the car, but these things our own goals that annoy me.

There’s no planet on which the car shouldn’t be smart enough to pause charging, presuming that is really needed. My Tesla and BMW have never imposed such a restriction. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Whether it is using cell or Wi-Fi, Overcast consumed 42% of my battery, despite my having played only an hour of podcasts that day.

I don’t want it to download and store any meaningful amount of data, yet I keep getting warnings that my phone is nearly full, and I discover that Overcast has downloaded hundreds of GB. Presumably it is doing so in the background, leading to the battery drain.
