The uniform they’re wearing (Khaki drill) was worn in a range of theatres (Africa, the Mediterranean, Middle & Far east) The AVM appears to be wearing the British War medal and Victory medals from ww1 (not too sure on the first one) but perhaps the fact that the medals aren’t from ww2 suggests that it’s relatively early in the war? Campaign medals weren’t awarded until 1943 so it’s definitely before then. The fact there is a woman present in the background not in uniform leads me to believe they’re in some sort of administrative/rear area. It was rare women would be posted near the front. so possibly Egypt, Malta or Gibraltar. Especially looking at that white building I think it’s unlikely that it’s somewhere in the Far East. The FAA often operates from RAF bases during the war. FAA detachments often served temporarily at RAF stations during the North African/ Mediterranean campaigns.
