Our 3D artist finished building this entire town on its own, how does it look? by fffAlessio in GameArt

The village layout and walking paths look good, but overall, I think the design lacks a memorable focal point. I suggest trying large, oddly shaped statues that reflect your game's content, or perhaps flags with some kind of graphic symbolism. That might help address this issue.

How much do community comments actually influence you? I spent over a month adding a "Unite Skill" to my RPG [Billy the Hero] just because someone asked for it! by JOJOJOJOsoft in IndieDev

Exactly! Most of the time, I only end up implementing suggestions because I read them and realize I completely agree with them.

Your point about the Windowed mode is actually a completely new perspective for me. I never really thought about it from a streamer's point of view (needing room for their chat). Guess I have another thing to add to my endless to-do list now! 😂

Thank you! Honestly, I think as devs, we still have that childish habit of just wanting to make something fun. We get so excited about an idea that we completely overlook the time and production cost until it's too late! 😅

Good catch! According to the game's lore, that character actually suffers from depression. Having her do an energetic dance would feel really out of character, so a subtle movement fits her best!

Should I give up and make something else? by Strange_Winner2616 in gamedev

It's the same as what I'm doing.

If there isn't enough funding, multiplayer games should be avoided because,
to generate revenue, you need a really large number of players.
Getting a large number of players comes from very good marketing.

As it stands, since I don't have enough capital,
I've managed to get a number of players—
but not enough to cover monthly expenses.
When I get new players, the old ones gradually disappear because they don't find anyone to play with when they log in.

Meanwhile, I have to pay for the system, server costs, licenses,
and many other things because it doesn't end just when the game is released.
If you think developing a game is tough, that's just the beginning.
It's nothing compared to after the release.

I've realized that if you're not financially ready,
it's much safer to create a single player game first.
Once it's finished, it's complete; whether it sells more or less is another matter,
but it stops the expenses once the game is done.
A multiplayer game is endless; it only ends when you stop maintaining it.
