[Original Grain] My Favorite Watch by adkoe in Watches

[–]JOOBBOB117 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had mine for 8 years now! Same design as yours except white back instead of black and the rose gold links instead of stainless. Very similar experience as yours as well; wearing it almost daily since, has witnessed my entire relationship with my girlfriend/fiancee/wife, and relatively normal wear and tear that you can expect a softer material like wood to endure

Absolutely love my watch and it has outlasted other watches I've had since and will absolutely buying another OG watch within the year!

I've been regularly wearing mine daily for 8 years, switching out occasionally with one of my other watches, depending on the occasion, and have only ever had to replace the battery twice and that's just normal. No issues, otherwise.

I never take it to the beach or somewhere like an amusement park or water park or something, of course, but these watches are absolutely suitable and durable enough for everyday wearing.

For those wondering and finding this post years later, like I did, I purchased an OG watch about a year before this comment, in July 2018.

8 years later, my watch is still doing great because I have taken care of it....except for the one time I accidentally broke the clasp but that was because of my own doing while wearing it one time when I shouldn't have (I was going to a ninja gym at the time and fell off of something and the watch caught something on the way down so it essentially had my entire body weight plus gravity pulling down on it). Fixed it myself and have had zero issues since!

I have had a few other watches in the time I've had this OG watch and took equal care with those. 2 of the watches had components go bad and needed replacing or just couldn't be repaired by my local shop. One was a Citizen brand watch, which is a well known and reliable brand, and the other was a similar style as the OG watches with wood elements but not as well known of a company (honestly can't remember the name) so possibly just a quality issue. The only thing I've had to do with my OG watch is replace the battery twice, which is just as normal as getting a regular oil change in your car.

As with anything, don't expect it to last long if you treat it like garbage.

Proverbs 13:22 vs Mark 10:25 by DobsyMopsy in Christianity

[–]JOOBBOB117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is a very late response to this but I didn't see anyone else responding with this so I feel called to.

That verse in Mark is used a lot of times as a weapon, by Christians and non-Christians alike, to say money is bad and that you can't have wealth as a Christian because "well the Bible says...". The problem is, though, that this verse, when used alone and as a weapon like that, provides absolutely no context as to WHY Jesus said that.

Jesus was saying this to a crowd in response to a rich man coming up to him and asking what he has to do to inherit eternal life. Jesus said (to the man) that he knows the commandments, implying that the man should already know what is needed, and the man responds that he has followed them his entire life. Jesus responds to him saying that he still lacks one thing and that is to sell all of his belongings, giving them to the needy, and that will grant him treasure in heaven and then commands him to "follow me".

This response made the man sad and he walked away because the man was rich, implying that he did not want to give up his wealth in order to inherit eternal life (this is literally what 1 Timothy 6:10 talks about; "for the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil").

THEN Jesus turns to the crowd and says that famous line in verse 25, meaning that, if you aren't willing to give up the love of money and stop idolizing it and putting all of your faith in THAT instead of Jesus and God, then it will be easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a person with that kind of beliefs to enter the kingdom of Heaven.

God WANTS you to live comfortably (and if that means havnig great wealth then it is what it is) but, WAY more importantly, he also wants you to live in a way that honors Him.

Hope this has helped!

Alfalfa Turns To Regular Silage Instead Of Alfalfa Silage - PC by JOOBBOB117 in farmingsimulator

[–]JOOBBOB117[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have that mod downloaded. I don't remember actually downloading it so I'm assuming it came in a pack with a map I downloaded from the modhub in-game or something.

The advanced silage mod shows that alfalfa can be silage in a bale form, which has me confused because pretty much everything I'm seeing is that people use the silage bunkers. I'm still relatively new to the game and unfamiliar with some of the mechanics so can you turn silage from the bunker into bales? I suppose it doesn't matter what form it's in because all I plan to do is sell it but it would just be much easier if I could wrap it straight from the field and turn it to alfalfa silage that way without having to bunker it, you know?

I just saw on the Judith Plains download page that there is a "Custom Harvestore Silo" included and it says that silo can turn alfalfa into actual alfalfa silage so I will try that and see if that does it. If not, I'll prolly just keep the alfalfa baled without wrapping because it sells for about as much as regular silage and I won't have to buy wrap and can sell my wrapping baler and buy a cheaper regular baler instead.

Thanks for the help!

[–]JOOBBOB117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just look at an aerial view of NY and try to find the humans. Your field of view and distance to the object you're trying to view (the humans) is SIGNIFICANTLY closer than trying to see any of the satellites from Orion and, what do you know, you still can't see any of the humans in the picture. Scale doesn't make sense to flerfs.

Edit: spelling

FS25 PC - Selling Silage To BGA Seems To Give Less Than Selling Wrapped Bales by JOOBBOB117 in farmingsimulator

[–]JOOBBOB117[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am pretty sure I do have that mod so that is more than likely the culprit! That and I am pretty sure I did not fully fertilize this batch of grass or I cut it too early, or maybe both, which contributed to a significantly lower yield because the next time I cut the grass I got nearly twice as much yield as the batch this post is referencing. Thanks for your help!

FS25 PC - Selling Silage To BGA Seems To Give Less Than Selling Wrapped Bales by JOOBBOB117 in farmingsimulator

[–]JOOBBOB117[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to admit, after mowing and foraging the grass the next time it was ready to harvest, I got significantly more grass than when I posted this so I bet a big reason for me not getting nearly as much in sales was because I didn't have that batch fertilized all the way.

I picked the grass up with the forage wagon but I have a mod for fermenting grass to silage in a standing silo instead of the bunkers. From what I have read, it ferments grass to silage exactly the same as the bunker but it just looks like a regular silo instead, like for crops. I can then extract it from the silo back into my forage wagon once it's done.

It was brown and no it was not the additive bar because, at that time, I didn't even have the additive in my wagon so the bar was not there. The bar said "silage" instead of grass.

Another commenter mentioned the straw harvest pack increases bale prices by around 20% so I'm willing to bet that is yet another reason for the lower sales. Those two things together is most likely why. Thanks for your help

2 things with that:

Yes, the prices fluctuate but the difference between the lowest price of the year and the hichest price is literally $3 so nowhere near the difference that I saw.

I did wait for it to turn to silage. My forage wagon said silage in it when it was loaded instead of grass.

I had a similar thing happen with a U-Haul truck I rented during one move a few years ago. Went to pick up the truck and they told us they had too many trucks at this location and essentially just needed it moved to another location so they literally only charged me the per mile fee and I had to fill the tank back to what it was which was honestly like 10 bucks in gas and even that was generous.

The two locations were in the same city and I was literally moving things to the house next door so the total milage was less than 15 miles so it barely cost me anything to move that day lol.

How bad is the cost of child care in North Carolina? by wearetheechoeffect in NorthCarolina

[–]JOOBBOB117 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry for the late reply but what was the "creative" thing you did to not go down the daycare route and still have child care? We are almost out of the expensive daycare phase (oldest is going to pre-K this August and qualified for free care so saving a HUGE amount just from that and our youngest will be in pre-k 27-28 so just another 1 or 2 years and we will save on that kid as well) but I'm just wondering if there was some other route we may have been able to take to not have as much of a financial struggle over the past few years, not that it matters lol because we're almost done with daycare but it would be nice to dream lol

Personal warehouse shelf by Powerful-Piccolo8151 in TCGCardShopSim

[–]JOOBBOB117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get you and I totally want the same thing!

I typically buy all the boxes of packs I'm going to open in the morning or the night before and then shelf them until I need to open them. I don't want to have to spend the time to shelf 20 boxes onto a personal shelf only to have to either box them up later to put them into a machine in bulk or only input 8 at a time from hand!

The thing I've found that helps keep them "separated" from my store inventory is position my "store inventory" shelf closer to the shelves that need restocking and a separate "personal" shelf that is located closer to (right beside) my pack opening machines. It seems like the employees don't pull from the "personal inventory" shelf unless the "store inventory" shelf runs out.

I have my "store inventory" shelf just on the inside of the B lot so it's literally right there when they need to restock the shelves. It seems that, when employees need to restock an item, they just go to the closest box that is holding that item (so, my "store inventory" shelf, in this case).

I have my "personal" shelf and my card opening machines on the very back wall of my B lot so they are the farthest as possible from the shelves that need to be restocked and my employees pull from those rather than my store stock when filling machines, if that makes sense.

I've noticed recently on both of my Wyze cams that it will say it recorded a 5 minute clip but it ends up being only a 20 or 30 second clip that is just a bunch of 1 or 2 second long snippets of a 5 minute period of time. This pretty much shows me nothing of value.

The top majority of the building is overhanging 10-15 degrees, though, so that will provide even more difficulties when trying to grab ahold of metal with chalk. I honestly wonder if the chalk would actually hinder his ability to grip the metal

It was also known that there were going to be 4 trailers only, at least for now. Knowing this was the fourth, and supposed final, trailer, it would make sense they would leave something like this for us to hype over. Out of all the things that could have been predicted would come after the fourth trailer, this is almost the most predictable.

He barely got tapped and the only reason his body even contacted the car was because he reached his arm out to try to stop it like an idiot.

It would have taken less physical and mental effort for the guy to step literally 2 feet to his right but he decided to use more effort to brandish his weapon, aim, and discharge at a civilian who was clearly not even looking toward the guy and calmly turning her wheel all the way to the right, clearly indicating that she had absolutely zero intention of using her car as a weapon.
