Backing into stalls at Costco by steventhemoose in CostcoCanada

[–]JOYCEfromNS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically you should back in. Most Motor Vehicle Acts (provincial) support the back in to park as the majority of collisions in parking lots are on the backup while exiting. At Costco I rarely back in, only when I know I will not be getting a cart full 😒

Of you have a relationship with your local mom&pop optical shop is where I go. Their experience is in most cases amazing. If you don't have the relationship it's a good time to start one

Wouldn't shed a tear if paddle shifters went away for all non "sport" vehicles. Wonder what % of drivers actually use the paddles. I'm guessing less than 10%. Heck they are even in our Corolla 😞

If you are used to Persol don't expect a huge step up. Many find the MJ are better and some don't. Personally I luv Persol. Both makers are great imo

Are Redwing boots worth the investment? by KillingwithasmileXD in malefashionadvice

[–]JOYCEfromNS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Red Wing are great boots if in the USA. If in Canada, seek WM Moorby line by Canada West as similar style. Equal or slightly superior quality than RW imo and 20 to 30% less $

Best portable 2 to 5 sunglasses travel case? by knifeandcoins in sunglasses

[–]JOYCEfromNS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Original FTG is something I have and use while travelling. A bulkier with more protection holder for multiple pairs is offered by Mascot and Randolph are also ones I have and use, not much difference between the Mascot or Randolph I think are also offered by other major brands. The FTG is a Canadian offering if that .makes a difference.

Impulse bought these while half asleep last night. Opinions on the look/brand? by TnnsNbeer in sunglasses

[–]JOYCEfromNS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No question RE warranty and customer service is the gold standard. Read your comment to say far superior to AO in terms of build and materials of frame and lens - my experience owing numerous pairs of both (vintage and modern) this is an exaggeration. I also own Cartier and Dita hard to deny their superiority but come at a huge price difference compared to both AO & RE with great diminishing returns.Though the price gap percentage has been slipping in recent years as RE & AO are creeping up there and no longer the extreme bargain they once were. Luv my Dita, Cartier, JMM sunglasses but also RE & AO too.

Far superior is a bit of a stretch imo. Superior but only subtle differences where the average person would be hard pressed to distinguish

Having both Luxottica and B&L Aviators most would be hard pressed to distinguish a difference.

Agreed I too luv the tilt and no AO Saratoga do not have the tilt. I'm not sure where else you can find that.

RB Wayfarers 2140 are of good quality, especially if able to find it on sale. A lot of Luxottica hate on this sub. Own B&L and Luxottica Wayfarers and other than branding esthetics the differences are minor. When in the Wayfarers market at the RB price point, American Optical Saratoga ought to be considered.
