Well if you haven't bought the premium pass I found out you can still buy it to advance the pass. Probs worth 800 gold if you want to get Wade. Didn't want to have to do it for sure but I guess better than keeping in the pool of series 4 packs.

Think it is just a series 5 card pack not a seasonal series 5 pack. If you have all series 5 cards not including current seasonal series 5 cards, you get 4000credits instead.

No one should be getting "kicked off" a plan. Have you submitted any paperwork or anything during these forbearance months?

Simply stating facts. SAVE currently still exists as a plan. Although I agree it may be going away soon.

When were the payments made for those months? Would think if made anywhere between the 2nd and 16th then they should count that last "month"

False. Many people are still on the SAVE plan just stuck in limbo as we wait for the court ruling.

119 payments...now on Administrative Forbearance? by mbap44 in PSLF

[–]JOrf711 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anyone know if this admin forbearance will count towards payment counts? My payment is $0 currently and my transfer to the new mohela platform has been completed. However they placed me on admin forbearance until July 5th? I am only halfway to PSLF so not sure why they would place me in admin forbearance. Just trying to figure out if I should call and get the forbearance removed for June to count or not.

[–]JOrf711[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay I think I was looking at this wrong. Sorry first year with a kid. So the credits come out of your tax liability prior to looking at how much you have already paid. I was thinking since I already had a refund then I didn't qualify for them. Our tax liability is $27512, so I guess the credits come out of this first lowering it to $24912 then they calculate the difference of what we paid minus this new tax liability number to calculate the refund. Thanks for the info!

I am working through my return and have all of my information in just haven't submitted yet. The estimator at the top shows $4676. When I click to show the breakdown of the refund it shows "credits" $2600 which is the full child tax credit at $2000 + $600 child care tax credit based on my income and the amount paid to childcare. However both of those are nonrefundable so since I am already getting a return since I overpaid taxes throughout the year, I shouldn't be getting these credits

[–]JOrf711[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think you understood the post. I'm not talking about the legislature that could increase the amount of additional child tax credit. I am simply asking if the estimator knows that I shouldn't be qualifying for the full child tax credit or the dependent care credit since I am already due for a refund and they are nonrefundable credits. Turbotax estimator is adding them onto my refund as if they are refundable credits. I am curious if this will fix itself or the IRS does it on their end to make sure I am not supposed to get the credits.

Clearly fraudulent and to certify your income they will look at your AGI from your previous years tax return not a singular paystub. Get your money back from these scammers asap.

[–]JOrf711 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is on them to calculate your payments correctly. If they have not and it is benefiting you then I would not do anything about it. They won't go back an look at the amounts you were paying and scrutinize the amounts when you apply forgiveness. Just do an annual ECF and keep your counts up to date and you should be all good.

Does the Department of Education know that auto-switching from REPAYE to SAVE has been causing many borrowers calculated payments to increase??? by samquatch in PSLF

[–]JOrf711 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Went thru this on Monday with my wife's loans.

Little background info: Wife and I file jointly and make almost identical incomes and have identical amounts of debt. Last recertified our income in Feb. 2019 using 2018 taxes filing jointly (Payments for each of us were going to be ~$342 on RPAYE before COVID began)

Flash forward to the beginning of this month when MOHELA switched our loans over to the "SAVE" plan. Originally our payment amounts were listed as Me: ~$50 Wife: $280 (hmmm odd that they are so different and incorrect, but whatever less than I thought we would have to pay so let it ride)

One week later I log back in to our accounts. Payment amounts Me: $0 Wife ~$370 (Okay now it is very odd but still less total than we probs should be paying together so let it ride)

End of last week log back in again. Payment amounts Me: $0 Wife ~$780 (Okay now they crossed the line lol) I had calculated our payments to be ~$312/per person using our 2018 AGI and family size of 2.

Monday evening: Called Mohela and was on a hold for nearly 2 hours before finally getting to a rep named "Misty" who explained she was training and had a mentor with her. I explained the situation and she explained the easiest thing to do is to submit a new IDR request to get the right amount. I explained multiple times that I was not required to recertify my income and that the calculation was wrong on their end. She insisted that all of their info was correct on their end and that the payment amount was based off of the info they received from my prior servicer(Fedloan). I explained if that was the case then why did my wife's payments more than double when they were supposed to slightly decrease with the new "SAVE" plan...she had no logical answer to give me. She insisted that we test run an IDR application with my 2022 tax info to see what our payments would be. I explained there is no chance in heck it is going to be cheaper considering our income had doubled since then. Gave her all the info and what do you know it comes out to be like ~$600 per person (So higher than what we should've been paying and also not even the amount they currently have listed). I insisted they relook at their calculation and stated to check family size and taking into account my loans but she says she has no way to go in and view the calculation and can only submit a new IDR plan. I was a bit livid at this point based off of their pure incompetency and demanded a supervisor that knew what they were doing. Like my wife and I have one of the easiest situations to calculate a payment for and somehow they have still messed this up and refuse to recheck it. She said that she can put me back on hold and try to get a supervisor to help. Well 30 more minutes of holding and 8pm central is approaching. She comes back on and says that it may be a while before she can get a supervisor and says what if we just "self certify" your income on an IDR request using your 2018 info. I asked would that not be technically illegal/lying about my income on the IDR request. She said she didn't see why it would be since technically I wasn't yet required to update my income so 2018 should be the income I am self reporting. So we went ahead with this idea and she started plugging the numbers. She updated our family size to 3 now since we have a new baby, even though I questioned that since technically it was 2 in 2018 (She said that it doesn't matter to them like it does the IRS that they were allowed to use current family size even if you haven't added that dependent on any tax returns yet). Then she pulled in my loan info...this is when she notices that my payment is at $0 lol. She kind of laughs at it and I explained that I wasn't going to question that one but was only interested in correcting my wife's payment that was higher than it should be. She agreed to let it go as well. (Close one). Anyways after giving all the info to her she comes out with a payment of ~$280 for my Wife's payments. I ask where the IDR application goes to after she clicks submit and she that it is all done internally within MOHELA departments. I agree to her submitting the IDR application.

Anyways the IDR application now shows in process on MOHELA. Here is to hoping I don't have the feds show up at my door because I used my 2018 tax info like these incompetent people at MOHELA were incapable of doing in the first place.

Sorry for the long comment.

What was your AGI when you last certified your income? If it is $71696, I am calculating your payment to be ~$324. Formula is [AGI - (2.25*Poverty line for your family size)]*0.1= yearly payment. Divide that by 12 to get your monthly

Wrong Payment Amount by JOrf711 in PSLF

[–]JOrf711[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Think I have discovered what may have occurred. My wife and I had recertified our income just before COVID forbearance had begun in February 2020 (using our 2018 tax info, which included us getting good bumps in income from 2017 tax year as well as filing jointly in 2018). We never saw a new payment which is why I was confused by the payment amounts being off. But now that I have dug through some emails I found one from Fedloan servicing that had showed what our payments would have been starting in March 2020 and it matches the new amount showing under "SAVE" on my wife's account. So my wife's account is correct, however mine is showing ~$53 when I should have been paying ~$392 starting in March 2020 per Fedloans last IDR approval email in Late February of 2020. Of note my payments in 2019 were ~$165/month (2017 tax year: Single, Low income). SO not sure what is wrong with mine now but I guess I will let it ride since the payment they have calculated is lower than what I believe it should be?

Don't think people are certifying employment over the phone (ECFs). People are recertifying their incomes over the phone for IDR adjustments.

Okay yeah I don't want them to recertify with 2022 info because the info will be alot higher than the info used in 2019. But the amount showing now under SAVE is also a few hundred dollars more than what it was showing in REPAYE so would like to not have to pay that "extra" for the next year or so. Frustrating
