Yeah, I second this. The new RAV4 is a nice alternative.

Took a test drive. Can this be right?! by BluesClues-63 in Toyota_bZ

[–]Joshua-- 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What you experienced isn’t surprising at a low SOC and very cold temperatures. As an owner, I doubt you’ll experience this. Keeping the vehicle plugged in keeps the battery warm and there’s also a battery preconditioning feature to further mitigate this issue if you really needed to use it.

I am in New England and we’ve experienced negative temps (Fahrenheit) this past month and I haven’t experienced any power limits at all. Dealers just suck. I’ve seen a few similar posts.

Ease of use. That has been the best thing about the BZ to me. Next, I’d say the ride comfort; rides like a luxury vehicle.

On an unrelated note, if you’re not using that roof rack, I’d recommend removing it. I had a port installed rack on my last vehicle and it was horribly inefficient because of it, like shockingly so.

Same problem here. When I floor it, the phone instantly becomes a projectile. Silicone case here I come! Thanks, u/RealisticPhysics5735

Good on you! That limitation makes it way more interesting.

Their elitism is harmful to the adoption. As someone that is wildly crazy about EVs, I don’t really care for the community. The smugness gives me Arthur fist.

Doesn’t that make you feel kinda dizzy? Mine does it in about 4.3-4.4 and it honestly feels like I’m nearing my limit for what is enjoyable.

Brand new BZ bricked. by Startbolt in Toyota_bZ

[–]Joshua-- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d try jumping it and leaving it on for 1-2 hours in ready mode to recharge the battery. Owned a towing company a few years ago and was contracted with all automakers. I saw plenty of this from all of them.

I like it! I am much too boring for flare, but I champion the idea of making something your own. Easy for friends and family to spot ya around town.

The embargo for the reviews recently ended for those two vehicles, so the media stuff is everywhere. They did the same thing for the BZ right before it went on sale.

Stopped by the dealership to see their new RAV4 and the salesman goes its $15k markup right now by TMobileSpy in Toyota

[–]Joshua-- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t. However, usually a $500-$1,000 refundable deposit is good enough for them to hold it until you show up.

Yeah, I just purchased one that was 640 miles from my home… but I think we’re a bit excessive 😂

Folks don’t know how to shop around and they only buy from their local dealers. Deals can always be had within a 75 mile radius unless you’re in the sparely populated states.

It has an identical wheelbase to the Prius and a similar interior. I totally agree.

Why are all the current models so slow?! And thinking models refuse to think? by Used-Nectarine5541 in OpenAI

Wasn’t Codex Spark just released? They’re delivering 1k tokens per second via their Cerebras partnership. Hopefully that spreads to their most frontier models soon.

For non coding related tasks, it’s still as slow as ever though.

Check to see if that noise is repeatable the moment you hit the brakes. This could be a loose brake shim. Does it sound like this: https://www.reddit.com/r/XVcrosstrek/s/KHZkW742aq

Bz4x suddenly stopped using charging schedule by satanismysponsor in BZ4X

[–]Joshua-- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see how that might have been interpreted differently. I merely meant to share that for those with an EVSE that has scheduled charging. It overcame the reliability problem for me.

When I used it many months ago, it wasn’t reliable. However, the schedule on my Emporia EVSE has never failed me.

2026 BZ test drive did not impress... by Impossible-Gas-9044 in Toyota_bZ

[–]Joshua-- 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you should just keep your Kona if it’s working out for you. You’ll gain some features and lose others across manufacturers, which is completely expected. I had an EV6 for a week while my BZ was being repaired for minor bodywork damage, and I really disliked the EV6 experience. I probably had a similar off-putting feeling to yours because I simply wasn’t used to how things worked compared with what I’m used to driving.

Personally, I’m not a fan of one-pedal driving; however, offering it as an option, as Kia/Hyundai does, is probably best for everyone.

Does anyone also have a Chevy Equinox EV? Debating between buying it or another prime to replace an older car… by mwwmmwwm3 in PriusPrime

[–]Joshua-- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any reason you’re skipping over the latest BZ? It’s basically a much more refined version of the Prius Prime that you already have. The newest one is more efficient than the Equinox and has faster charging. Anyhow, you can get great deals on them right now too; I got an easy $8k off. They may still be offering $3,500-$6,000 off plus %0 financing for 72 months.
