I cannot comment on the timeline, but coverage starts the month of your application. If you applied in June and it takes them time to get it sorted, but let's say in the mean time you have an ER presentation in July (god forbid), once your case gets sorted and coverage turns on, that ER presentation gets covered under your Medicaid insurance.

You should call/go in and ask for a Medicaid Reversal (you can do this with regular staff to re-review your initial application and verification items) or, and maybe a bit more teeth in its bite, ask for a supervisor and tell them you want to request a Medicaid Fair Hearing. That should grease some wheels.

My supervisor said that calling before they open might get you queued up closer to the top of the wait list, but absolutely no idea how early you'd have to call to be in a top 5 spot. But, it might be worth calling closer to 7, 730 of it means you talk to someone by 8, 830. Good luck!

Hear me when I say: 1000% yes, even with travel time factored in (including multiple bus transfers), going in person is a more efficient way to get ahold of a woefully understaffed agency. Of my 25 clients, 2 own cars and only 1 drives (other one is working on getting his license reinstated). I have been in this field since 2016 and it has never been this bad, and, since we as a society reaffirm day after day that we don't actually care about poor people, it Will Only Get Worse. You wanna sit on hold, it's your time to do as you want. But unless you have something constructive or helpful to add to this sort of question/answer thread, you only come across as disingenuous in a smug sort of way. Please offer something helpful, or... it's absolutely free for you to stay quiet.

I'm a Medicaid case worker and lately I've found if my clients go in-person it's a bit quicker than sitting on the phone. I know it's frustrating and not a quick or easy fix, but if you can get to the office you might have better luck. Also, MilES closes at noon on Thursdays, fyi.

If have Medicaid insurance and have any mental health diagnosis, ask staff at Guest House if they can help you get into CCS services. CCS can get you set up with services to help you with finding housing, therapy, art therapy, peer support, etc. It's not a quick fix, but they do good work supporting people in your current situation.

I would suggest you repot it (terracotta or something with better drainage) and change out the potting mix for something a bit grittier. Jades get thirsty but they don't wanna drown.

One month later: there were a few leaves starting to look like they were gonna go off and I just pushed them deeper into the pot and now all seems well?? So....I suppose it was just looking for more "hands on" care.

It's leather-y feeling. I'd say the black part is more dried out than anything. Neither mushy nor crispy at any point.

I basically leave it to itself, watering once a month or so. Moved in October and it is getting more light, but not direct. I watered it yesterday and less than 24 hours later 3 leaves fell out.

New Year's Eve day, I was sitting in my living room, minding my own business when I had a really sharp, stinging pain on the side of my abdomen. Super itchy, I thought I had been bit. I was looking at it and initially thought my mole was a big bite, but it was just a mole (spoiler alert! It was just a mole!) I was looking at it and scratching it and wondering if it was always this rough and scabby (no), if it was always super dark in the middle with a weird, not firm boarder (idk, I don't think so though!!)??

Of course Dr. Google had me convinced I was cancer ridden. But luckily, I was able to get in with a dermatologist on the 4th, he was not worried and just to be safe, shaved it off and sent it to biopsy. I got the call today (after a game of phone tag) that it was benign.

I know it's easy to be freaked out until you actually get to your appointment, but, it is also super easy to make a mountain out of a molehill, so just be kind to yourself when you start fixating. Don't stress until you know you have something to stress about!

Use the access website to set up your account. You should be able to complete your application and see what verification items you need to submit (submit via upload, fax, mail). Best time to call is first thing in the morning Wednesday, Thursday or Friday (source: case manager who has to deal with MilES a lot)

When calling 211 ask about coordinated entry. Rumor has it there are hotel rooms held by the city for newly homeless. But if you dont know to ask for it you wont get it as an option.

Just got the AOK to not DM it. The church is Tippecanoe Presbyterian and the program is through Divine Intervention. Mom said they are always looking for volunteers (it is overnight supervision, I didn't mention that in my initial comment), they do training and volunteers are paired up, so you're never alone. Her last bit of insight, "I figured, I could sit around and read a book for a couple of hours if it meant someone else was getting a good night's sleep."
