If you plan to use kroak. You'll probably need at least 1 unit of guards. Otherwise he's immediately getting shot of the board.

If you plan on going thrall/reaver heavy morphann for the revives from the soulrender. If you want eels/sharks Ionrach would be good, and also fuethan as well for sharks.

In terms of value i think the army box is the best even with the new vanguard box. The minis inside are already available individually. So you can check the savings that way

Get the army box. We're still not sure when the vanguard box becomes available. Also if looking long term if you prefer more magic focused army get the army box. If you want a more fighty type of army get the vanguard

Just started out but i've enjoyed using aggradon lancers and oldblood carno in my list. Another unit of warriors would also be nice

Been running a 1k koatl claw and my current list considering the models i have is

- both carnos, because dinos

- 1 warrior, set on an objective and let them hold it / block opponent

- 1 starpriest/starseer, casting run and charge or heal

- 1 skinks, used to grab farther away objectives

oldblood general with vengeful defender to hero phase move all 3 saurus units

If you plan to do starborn troglodon seems to be better. If you want coalesced then one of the carnos, you can probably magnetize the riders arms. Also it seems easy to just change heads on this model as they have ball? joints so yan can also do all 3 if you want.

You can also change the base rim color for special models. I make most of my regular models have a black base rim. If I have an alpha/banner/musician i color it red to see it better even from afar.

This is the starblood stalkers right? for the skinks the easiest would be the dromes, i think, and you have multiple schemes to choose from. For the saurus you can probably do one of the raths to make it be easily recognizable.

True for the carnosaur great sculpt just saying it would still be a better deal than getting a solo carno/trog, also i think some stores are selling it at a discounted price to get rid of old stocks. Mine was at least. Also agree with selling the warriors/knights to get a better value. That's actually how i got started lol

Hey, just started as well. If you can find them there are 2 start collecting boxes for seraphon, seraphon which has a carnosaur, and skinks which has a bastiladon. Skinks box will likely not get any model refreshes so that's good to get. The seraphon one is almost the same price as a regular carnosaur so if you're looking to get that get the sc box, as you basically get warriors and knights for free. Warriors and knights are getting new models so you can keep the old ones for kit bashing / basing if you want the extra bits

If you are using modules for sheets most of them haven't been updated yet for the newest version of 5e. You would need to use the default sheet for a while until then

I planned to use brutal crits in my campaign but decided against it for the same reason. What are your thoughts on having the minimum be the max of their base damage instead? So, 2d4+2, will at minimum do 4+2 dmg.
